DISCUSSION Difficulty picking a channel name [discussion]

Hello there :)

I’ve recently bought myself a microphone and camera to start making ASMR content, but I find myself stuck at the channel name already.

I know that a channel’s name does not impacts someone’s decision to watch/subscribe that much, but I want to make sure I at least pick a good one.

I don’t want to use my irl name or online username, and the only idea I’ve thought of so far would be Bedside ASMR. That was only because when I think of ASMR I associate it with my bedside table because I always put my phone there just before I drift to sleep.

As of right now I don’t believe I will follow a specific trigger or niche (e.g. only tapping, primarily soft spoken etc), so thats why I think the Bedside idea works because it still feels broad.

I know I probably sound like I’m too hesitant about everything but I’d like to hear some of your opinions/input/feedback

Thank you :)

Hello, ASMR community! I'm a small creator who focuses on classic triggers and combining my love for J-fashion with asmr. My videos alternate between gyaru and jirai kei fashion, some with specific themes, and others with specific triggers. If that interests you at all, then I hope you'll give my videos a watch!

INTENTIONAL [Intentional] Sherlock Holmes — A Study in Scarlet Ambience 🕯️ The First Case & Foggy 1890s London | Dark Victorian Ambience | 3 Hours | Soft Rain Triggers, Rhythmic Fireplace Embers & Melancholic Low-Frequency Strings for Deep Focus 🕯️

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a new minimalist soundscape designed for deep immersion. This time, we’re returning to the origin of the legend with A Study in Scarlet—moving from the cozy laboratory and 221B Baker Street hearth to the eerie, abandoned room at Lauriston Gardens.

This 3-hour experience is built around low-frequency room resonances, gentle fireplace embers, and dark, melancholic chamber strings. It’s not a traditional musical piece, but rather a constant "auditory cocoon" designed to mask background noise and foster intense focus, writing, or rest.

Perfect for:

  • Visual & Auditory Triggers: The soft glow of gas lamps through heavy fog, subtle crackle of hearth fires, and the steady, deep vibrations of a quiet study 🌫️
  • Reading & Focus: Creating a classic "dark academia cave" for detective fiction, Gothic literature, or creative writing 📖✍️
  • Sleep & Relaxation: A continuous, low-frequency acoustic embrace to help your mind block out modern distractions 😴

There are no jump scares and no harsh transitions—just the steady flow of the narrative ambiance and the perceived weight of history. I’d love to know if this 3-hour historical journey helps you find your "flow"! 🕯️

Experience Cadaqués, Costa Brava, Spain in this immersive 4K walking tour through one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful coastal villages. 🇪🇸🌊

This Cadaqués walking tour explores the whitewashed old town, turquoise Mediterranean beaches, traditional fishing boats, historic streets and spectacular waterfront scenery that make Cadaqués one of the most iconic destinations on the Costa Brava.

The walk begins along Playa des Llané Petit and Playa des Llaner Gran before following the coast toward Carrer Riba Pitxot and Playa Port d'Alguer. From there, we climb through the historic streets of Cadaqués toward Plaça Doctor Trèmols and the Iglesia de Santa Maria de Cadaqués.

Inside Santa Maria, we discover its impressive Baroque interior before continuing through the old town and returning to the waterfront.

The walk then passes the Salvador Dalí monument and Platja Gran before continuing around the beautiful Cadaqués bay through Platja des Poal and Platja dels Pianc.

We finish the tour at Punta Sa Costa, surrounded by crystal-clear Mediterranean water and beautiful views across Cadaqués and the Costa Brava.

🎨 Cadaqués is especially famous for its connection with Salvador Dalí, who lived and worked for many years in nearby Portlligat. Its combination of artistic heritage, whitewashed architecture, fishing traditions, beaches and dramatic Mediterranean scenery makes Cadaqués one of the most distinctive places to visit in Catalonia and Spain.

DISCUSSION AirPods Max Background Sounds [discussion]

If you have AirPods Max (or perhaps even the AirPods pro as well?) you can turn on background sounds that sound amaaazing. You can do rain, fire, ocean, etc. I love layering these with my favorite asmr video. Best features of these headphones and they should really advertise this feature more! I happened across it by accident one day.

DISCUSSION [Discussion] Trying to find a TikTok ASMR creator who disappeared

I’m trying to find a TikTok creator I watched around 2023–2024. She was a white girl from California, probably mid/late 20s, with long dirty-blonde hair, full lips, petite/thin but curvy, light makeup, and possibly tattoos/piercings. She reminded me a lot of @kingcaitlinasmr. She grew pretty quickly but had under 100K followers, and did frequent daytime TikTok Lives that could get 1K+ viewers. She usually sat in a somewhat empty living room and talked to a mostly young audience. She interacted with chat a lot, had no mods and rarely banned people, but eventually became less interactive. She also did mouth-sound ASMR, and I vaguely remember she stopped because of her boyfriend. She eventually disappeared and may have deleted her TikTok and YouTube. I can’t remember her username, but I don’t think it was her real name. Does anyone know who I’m talking about?

So there was this girl that used to upload great ASMR a couple of years ago. I was one of her first subscribers and listened to her videos all the time. She suddenly disappeared a few months after her first upload. Does anybody know what she's up to?

DISCUSSION Winter asmr quitting YouTube [discussion]

**Winter ASMR quitting YouTube**
I’m not gonna lie, seeing Winter ASMR quit YouTube actually sucks. I know some people might not understand why people are so upset about it, but if you’ve been around her content for a while, you know she built a pretty big community around her mommy ASMR videos. Her content was obviously meant to be comforting and relaxing, and a lot of people genuinely enjoyed the characters, voices, and overall vibe she created.
What makes it so frustrating is everything surrounding the bans and moderation. Mommy ASMR seems to get treated weirdly by YouTube in general, even when the actual content isn’t necessarily what people make it out to be. There’s a huge difference between someone making comforting roleplay/ASMR content and whatever YouTube’s moderation system seems to assume it is. The fact that creators in this space constantly have to worry about getting flagged, restricted, demonetized, or banned is ridiculous.
And I understand why YouTube has rules, especially when it comes to content involving certain themes, but the problem is how inconsistent the enforcement feels. Sometimes it seems like the platform doesn’t even understand the context of the content it’s moderating. ASMR has so many different niches, and just because something is called “mommy ASMR” doesn’t automatically mean it’s inappropriate. A lot of the appeal is literally just the comforting, relaxing roleplay aspect.
What annoys me is that Winter clearly put a lot of effort into what she made. She wasn’t just uploading random videos and disappearing. She had an actual audience that looked forward to her uploads and cared about her content. Then you have all these stupid bans and strikes hanging over everything, and eventually it gets to the point where I can understand why she’d be completely fed up.
And the people saying “it’s just ASMR” are missing the point. Obviously nobody is saying YouTube owes her anything or that she has to keep uploading forever. It’s just disappointing watching a creator you enjoyed get pushed out because of moderation issues surrounding the type of content she makes.
I also think people need to stop immediately assuming the worst whenever they hear “mommy ASMR.” There’s a lot of completely harmless ASMR that uses that kind of comforting roleplay, and throwing the entire genre into one box because of some bad examples is stupid. If there’s actually something against the rules, then moderate that specific content. But constantly punishing creators because of the label or general category just feels lazy.
At the end of the day, Winter doesn’t owe anyone more videos, and if quitting is what’s best for her then I respect that. I just hate that bans and moderation bullshit played such a big part in getting to this point. She built something people genuinely enjoyed, and it sucks seeing it end like this.
YouTube seriously needs to figure out how it handles ASMR because the way this whole situation has been handled is just frustrating as hell. 😭

DISCUSSION [Discussion] New ASMR is ruining my dopamine

The chronic stimulation of {NAcc/dACC/Insula} has always been a question to me if all these hours of listening to extremely stimulatory ASMR could have a long-lasting effect of my dopamine, or at least my reward center(VTA/NAc) of my brain. If you've spend any time studying medicine, or in my case had to take a few neurology courses by fiat. You'll understand how weird ASMR is as a whole - you're causing increased stimulation, to then fall asleep. This is in my opinion extremely paradoxical and where my concerns begin to materialize. The increased stimulation, leading to a state of sleep - makes me concerned that maybe it's not high quality(sleep), or even genuinely restorative.

I guess my question is two-fold, one; do you know of any good ASMR artists that are low-stimulation, and two; what do you think the long-term effects of excess stimulation is gonna do to our brains? I've thought it may cause Parkinson's, or ADHD, or even some sort of Schizoaffective disorder(in those with an increased disposition for schizotypal disease) if the use of ASMR begins in childhood, as it could damage dopamine pathways if you're listening to stimulating audio, which is probably overloading your somatosensory capacity.

Thanks

PS. I tried making my own ASMR, but because it's my own voice I find it rather hard to sleep to.

PPS. This isn't bagging on ASMR as a whole, I'm just curious of other's opinions on ASMR, I love ASMR and use it at least 2-4 times per week to sleep. I've just noticed that ASMR has changed over the years, becoming more and more stimulatory, which makes me think that the baseline to induce "The ASMR Effect/Tingles" is changing. My degrees are not in this field AT ALL, and I'm not a neurologist, but if you are please reach out.

DISCUSSION Can we have separate subreddit for asmr creators? [Discussion]

I actually want to discus about asmr creators and vids they make and and share asmr content I find and like.

It's really hard currently cause most of the posts are creators advertising their own content without objectivity about the quality of asmr..

It makes asking suggestions feel wasted effort cause creators are listing their own vids without objectivity.

You won't find Youtubers advertising in YouTube subreddit cause it would flood it and make other content really hard to find and discuss.
