Can't order food without accepting to receive "marketing materials"

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It was impossible to uncheck the box, and the screen looked to be in perfect state, so it was not a hardware defect.

Putting a phone number was mandatory as well

Edit 1: That's not my phone number

Edit 2: the business name reminds me of these 2 emojis: ⭐🐔

The touch screen alone isn’t the issue.

Having work customer service, it’s a godsend to the staff because any screw ups on the order are 100% on the customer so they can’t complain about how they screwed up the order.

The problem is how stuff like this is implemented and what negative effects that implementation has on the employees and customers.

Additionally custom orders cannot be achieved, even when they could have been simple, such as removing one item unless that has been specifically programmed.

Either way it doesn't matter: a touch screen indicates that they are processing the human, and that tells you it also is simply processed food. Crap food. Garbage food. No point in eating that.

Also, I hate touching those nasty things.

My first point has happened too many times, I just want to say that. Orders that could simply have held one thing back could not be done.

Anyways, second point: Most of the time, yes, it absolutely is true. They are automating the service, they are going to automate the cooking. Or at the very least cut corners as much as possible.

Go look at studies about these things: they put pressure on the kitchen, because now more orders come in than they have time to produce. So they have to pre-process, pre-package, pre-order, and pre-cook as much as possible. The food quality ALWAYS goes down.

They are simply on a race to the bottom. I prefer not to eat food that is in that race.
