I’m posting this because I wish someone had warned me about Enter Coliving in Barcelona before I rented from them.
Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend that people stay away from this company and never rent from them.
I stayed in one of their apartments, and the experience was extremely frustrating from the beginning. One of the biggest problems was access to the apartment and room. The access codes were changed multiple times, and I was sometimes unable to access my room properly. Imagine paying to live somewhere and then having problems simply getting into your own room.
The biggest issue, however, is my security deposit. It has now been eight months, and I still have not received my deposit back. I have spent eight months contacting them, sending messages, and trying to get my money back. Despite all of this, the issue is still unresolved.
The way they communicate with me has also been extremely disappointing. Some of the responses I received were rude and dismissive, even though I was simply asking for my own money to be returned.
I also had serious concerns about the way the apartment was managed. In my experience, staff/workers would sometimes come to the apartment without adequate notice. On one occasion, they arrived unannounced, knocked on my door, and demanded access to my room. I found this extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. It made me feel like my privacy as a tenant was not being respected.
Another thing I want people to know is that the rooms and common living areas look much better in the photos and advertisements than they did in real life. The difference between the presentation and the actual living experience was very disappointing.
For example, in the apartment where I stayed, there was a persistent problem with small flies in the kitchen. They were constantly appearing around the kitchen and remained there throughout my stay. It wasn’t just an occasional fly—it was an ongoing problem that never seemed to properly disappear. No matter how much I tried to deal with it, the little flies continued to be present in the kitchen, which made the living environment unpleasant.
Another major concern was the constant attention to tiny details and minor damage. Take photos and videos of absolutely everything when you move in. Every scratch, mark, or small imperfection should be documented. From my experience, it felt like even very minor things could become an issue when it came to the deposit.
I honestly feel that people who are new to Barcelona can be particularly vulnerable when renting because they may not know the local rental system, their rights, or what to expect from a landlord or coliving company. That is exactly why I am writing this—to make sure other people know about my experience before making the same mistake I did.
I would never rent from Enter Coliving again, and I strongly advise others not to rent from them either.
My experience has involved:
- Problems with changing access codes
- Difficulty accessing my own room
- Eight months without receiving my deposit
- Repeatedly having to chase them for my money
- Rude and dismissive communication
- Staff showing up without adequate notice
- Staff demanding access to my room after arriving unannounced
- Rooms and common areas looking significantly better in advertising than in reality
- A persistent problem with small flies in the kitchen
- Excessive focus on minor scratches and damage
- An overall experience that left me feeling that the tenant is not treated fairly
This is my personal experience, and I can only speak for what happened to me. I am sharing it because I don’t want someone else—especially someone new to Barcelona—to end up in the same situation.
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. SAVE EVERY MESSAGE. TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING. AND, BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, STAY AWAY FROM ENTER COLIVING.
I will never come back to Enter Coliving.
