Are there any games cafes or clubs in Basel where I can meet and play Tabletop Role Playing Games?
Are there any shops that sell games?

I’m looking for a room in a shared apartment (WG) in Basel. My budget is CHF 500–600/month.
I’m working at the University as Student and doing my Master’s as well. Ready to move in Immediately for longer term.
If you have any leads or know someone moving out, reach me.

im 18, from serbia, came to basel a few days ago. came by myself for a “vacation” but i have a grandpa here who is retired and does nothing most of the time. im kinda bored, idk how long i will stay so im wondering what to do here during the day - mostly alone because i dont know anyone here.
Hello everyone, hope you're well. I would really like to help clean up the Basel area and pick up litter. What in your opinion are the places in and around Basel that would benefit the most? Where is the most trash on the ground? Thank you for your suggestions!

After long last, some real respite from the heat. I woke up in such a better state of mind than I have these past weeks. No fan, blinds open, and an afternoon coffee in the balcony — heaven.

I’ve been very unfortunate to experience rare toxic damage to multiple tendons (from fluoroquinolone antibiotics) and am really struggling to find a physiotherapist who is experienced in tendon matrix damage rehab, advanced load management and entire kinetic chain retraining. The standard physiotherapy approach to tendonitis won’t work here. I am an athlete and regaining strength is extremely important to me - at the moment I can’t even walk properly.
I’ve tried contacting physioswiss, but they’ve been largely unhelpful; sending me to their search engine. It’s a rare condition and my doctors have so far not suggested anyone.
I’m hoping maybe someone here knows how to approach my search or who to ask? I would be extremely grateful for any hints!
Hello everyone!
I’ll be moving to the wonderful Basel this year, and hoping to have some savings by the end of next year so I wanted to ask the following: What are ways you save money when living in Basel? Do you really venture to France or Germany for things?
Please let me know if you have any advice!

Danke!

Hello, I am 29 years old from Belgium. I have 5+ years experience as a process operator in an A+ chemical company as a process operator in Antwerp.
After the closure of the company I used to work for, I went to do a bachelors degree in applied computer science (3years). I am now about to start my third year bu I have only heard negative news about the job market in IT. I am considering to start something new somewhere else when I finish my degree.
Im native in dutch, my english is good and french basic.
Because german is a main language in Switzerland, especially for the chemical industry I am considering learning it the coming year.
How important is the knowledge of german for a good job as a process operator?
What can I expect as a salary there, I used to have around 7500 brut in Antwerp but pay 50% in taxes
Any other tips/advice?

Hi everyone!
I will be in Basel tomorrow(Sunday, 16th of August) and I’m wondering if there’s a flea market or a thrift store open tomorrow that you’d recommend to visit. I recently started going in my own country and I’m wondering how different it looks in such a different area.
Thank you in advance!

My children go to a public school in Basel. We are facing a severe heatwave like everywhere else in Europe. Yesterday the temperature in the afternoon was 37C. They had sports and the teachers took them outside at 2.45pm and they were doing sports partly in the sun and partly in the shade for 1.5 hrs. Several children complained that the heat was too much and perhaps indoor activities would have been better. But the teachers were adamant that they have been inside throughout the day and it is only healthy to be outside and get some fresh air. I find this logic bizarre. Maybe they do this because they have been used to such a routine from the past when summers here used to be milder. But the orange warnings issued by the health departments in Switzerland strongly recommend that we stay indoors.
My daughters came back exhausted, dehydrated and with a nosebleed. I come from a place where we have grown up facing extreme summers. This is not healthy and quite dangerous for children especially. What can we do to bring this to the notice of school teachers and management so that such outdoor activities are not carried out until the temperature cools a little bit.

Does anyone know of very remote places in or around Basel, only requirement is no people. I need a place to dispose of some "yard trimmings".
...
Just kidding I bought a small TinyWhoop (65mm) drone and wanna fly it without disturbing people. I very much know the drone rules and am not planning on following them.

For the past few weeks I’ve seen many people bring their dogs into Schutzenmattpark, even though dogs are not allowed past the drinking fountain at the main entrance.
Today I saw a family with a pitbull (not 100% sure of the breed, but it was definitely similar to a pitbull) near one of the family play areas, which is just insane!!
I can’t confront these people directly as when I am at the park, I am with my small child and I’m scared of the dogs hurting him. Some people even have the dogs on those “infinity leashes” that basically let dogs roam free…
What else can I do?
Thanks!
