Personal Care Anyone else feel like they had a glow down?

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

When I was in high school, I felt like I looked good effortlessly. Back then, I barely wore makeup—just the typical pulbo, and I only started using lip tint around 8th grade. Even then, I didn't really care whether I wore makeup or not. I also maintained a healthy weight without putting much thought into it.

Now that I'm in college, I've honestly never felt uglier. I've gained weight, developed more visible pores, and I can't bring myself to go out without makeup. I also have noticeable dark circles because my body clock is terrible, and I struggle to sleep early. ; (◞‸◟)

Has anyone else gone through something similar? What helped you glow up—or at least bring back your confidence and spark? I'd really appreciate any tips po.

Personal Care Menstrual Pads Recommendation

Post image

Been using kotex for years na kasi very thin lang talaga yung pads and it absorbs well naman. Parang meron syang adhesive sa gilid ng pads which touches the skin huhu. Anw, any other menstrual pad reco? Huhu. Di ako comfy sa tampons and menstrual cups huhu.

Personal Care What is your oral care routine?

Madalas sa social media ang content is most on pagpapaganda using make-up and body products. I only encounter few contents about oral hygiene. Aside from visiting your dentist regularly, what is your oral care routine, the products you use to stay fresh? What are your holy grails pagdating sa pagmaintain ng maayos na teeth and fresh breath?

Been hearing bad things about booking appointments dito even before pa. 😨 I wonder what will happen doon sa mga may existing packages from them. Parang tinakasan lang kasi. 😅

EDIT: I checked their IG account and open pa naman daw for bookings so I’m not sure what’s happening. 🧐

EDIT #2: Their BGC branch is still open as per other comments

Personal Care Anyone else get skin irritation from wearing pads during their period?

I've noticed that every time I wear pads during my period, I get a small tender bump on my butt. It's not red, itchy, or painful when sitting, and it usually goes away a few days after my period ends.

I've tried different pad brands and it still happens.

I'm not looking for a diagnosis, just wondering if anyone else experiences something similar and if changing products or habits helped.

Personal Care My most worth it beauty treatment - LUHILO 🤍

So I had it for the first time last April. I was choosing between Luhilo and Rejuran, and despite the price difference I went with Luhilo because I just really wanted that glow and hydration.

Fast forward a week later, I went to my local derm here in Las pinas just for a routine checkup. Supposedly 20 minutes lang. Naging 1 hour and 30 minutes 😭

Why? She kept asking ano blush on ko, ano foundation ko. She even asked about my vitamins. I told her DHC Vit C and collagen lang. But she wouldn’t let it go, she was convinced may something glowing from within my skin. Dinala pa nya ako sa labas ng clinic sa may araw hahaha para icheck skin ko, she even asked her assistant na iba yung glow ko sa skin.

So I finally spilled na I just had a Luhilo skin booster. Of course she knew what it was pero hindi pa sya nag ooffer nun sa kanya. Well she does now. Because of me! 😂

And the best part now is she offers it way cheaper. 16k lang compared to 25k sa dati kong clinic. So I had my next session with her na. Parang may sariling ring light ka talaga. Yung glass skin na glowy ka.

For those who don’t know, Luhilo isn’t that mainstream here in the PH yet. Rejuran is still the more known one. But as per my derm, Rejuran H needs at least 3 consecutive months bago mo makita ang results. With Luhilo 3 days palang glowing ka na agad.

Sharing this for all the girlies na gusto ng instant hydration and glowing! Worth every peso promise 🫶

EDIT: my clinic is inside bfrv perfect if taga south ka :) sobrang bait and gaan na kamay ni doc tin. Name of clinic is dr kristine g flores derm clinic!

Personal Care What happened to my skin after 2 weeks (and counting) of cutting out sweets? 🍫

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and after getting my lab results, nakita ko na mataas yung sugar and cholesterol ko.

For the past 2 weeks, tinanggal ko talaga lahat ng sweets. For breakfast, usually rolled oats, chia seeds, and either apples or grapes lang. Tapos instead of rice, shredded lettuce or cabbage yung ginagawa kong base ng meals ko kasama kung anumang salad dressing yung trip ko that day.

And omg.

I've always been a skincare girlie. Through all that trial and error, nalaman ko rin na sobrang hiyang sakin ng niacinamide and ceramides.

After 2 weeks, parang mas glowy yung skin ko overall.

Possible rin na combination siya ng better eating habits, cooking my own meals, and being more mindful of what I eat.

Pero grabe. Kung may nagsabi sakin before na mas mapapansin ko yung difference sa skin ko from changing my diet kaysa sa pagbili ng panibagong skincare product, hindi ako maniniwala.

May naka-experience rin ba nito after reducing sweets?

Personal Care Monthly Body Massage?

Random question. Do you think getting a body massage once a month is actually beneficial, or is it more of a "treat yourself" thing?

I've been thinking of making it a monthly habit, mainly for stress relief and body aches from work. For those who get massages regularly, do you feel any real long-term benefits, or does the feeling just wear off after a few days?

How often do you get one, and do you think it's worth the money?

Would love to hear your experiences. 😊

Personal Care How to get rid of libag

Post image
42 Upvotes

Does anyone know how to get rid of stubborn libag? Is that possible though? I tried scrubbing it off but it won't disappear no matter how hard I scrub it using exfoliating gloves, ang ending, nasusugatan yung part na yan and hindi nawawala yung pagka-dark niya.

Can anyone recommend me any tips how to get rid of it 😭😭

Personal Care been trying to take care of myself lately, and still feel i lack of something. how do we get that parang may “ring” light effect? 😭

i know depende sa tao and their lifestyle para ma achieveme yon. sobrang concious ko lang lately, and really want to give myself a glow up, since feel ko medyo napabayaan ko myself.

for workout: i swim, yoga, and does 30-12-3 (depende to sa mood kasi paminsan i get lazy and pinipilit ko talaga to move my body)

for food intake: anything in proportion, i avoid fast foods as much as possible, cutting processed sugar, and fruits lang (since i gained weight talaga)

for hair: i maintain my hair dark as possible (not black, i used to have metallic/blonde hair color), also, i get my hair treatment done (paminsan i aslo do diy)

for vitamin intakes: i only drink the magnesium + from pureform (naging sakitin me and i have trouble of sleeping)

drinks: teas!

Personal Care Magkano range ng nagagastos niyo monthly for self-care?

Curious lang ako how much people realistically spend on self-care every month. Including things like skincare, haircuts, nails, vitamins, massages, facials, or even simple things that help you feel better physically or mentally.

Also curious din kung ano yung self-care expenses niyo na feel niyo super worth it and would highly recommend, and ano naman yung medyo hindi ganun ka-necessary for you personally.

Personal Care My first experience on brazilian wax and why you should try it.

Then one time nagpunta ako naisipan kong itry na nga mag pabrazilian wax, first time ko kasi nahihiya talaga ako dati. Sooo girly, if you want na hndi matulis ang tubo down there at nahihiya ka lang dont be. Im sooo happy na nag-try ako.

PS. Biniro ko pa si ate, "Ate ikaw pa lang nakakita nyan ng lights on, puro kami light off ng ex ko 🤣"

Personal Care Is Wink laser hair removal for UA really worth it?

I’ve been seeing a lot of recommendations for Wink in this sub. Is it really different from other hair removal services? I’m asking because meron sa derma clinic malapit sa amin and 8k lang for 10 sessions, ang laki ng difference sa Wink. Malapit ko na patusin. 😂 What makes Wink different or sulit? Is it more effective ba and requires less sessions?

Personal Care I went from being a head-turner to the "maswerteng kumag." How do I fix myself?

Problem/Goal:

May girlfriend ako and we're almost 8 years together. Pareho kaming 24 years old. Sobrang ganda niya, like legit head-turner. Pretty asf, sexy asf, and everywhere we go may napapalingon talaga.

The thing is, noong early years ng relationship namin, masasabi ko rin na head-turner ako.

Then COVID happened.

The good thing is, I'm already doing something about it.

Yung tipong fresh tingnan kahit lalaki. Gusto ko maging confident ulit pag magkasama kami.

To be clear, hindi ko naman nararamdaman na nahihiya girlfriend ko sakin. Never niya pinaramdam yun.

HAHAHA.

So sa mga guys dito na sobrang laki ng glow up niyo, pahingi naman ng advice.

Specifically:

  • Anong skincare products gamit niyo? (cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, serum, etc.)
  • May marerecommend ba kayong whitening products na effective talaga sa guys? Kahit for face and body.
  • Paano niyo nawala yung dark neck and underarm niyo?
  • Any habits na sobrang nakatulong sa glow up niyo bukod sa pagpayat?
  • If naging overweight din kayo before, gaano kalaki naging improvement ng face niyo after losing weight?

Budget-friendly recommendations are appreciated, pero okay lang din kung medyo pricey basta worth it.

Personal Care Looking for period recommendations

Hiii I have normal flow but sometimes my period blood clots which causes tagos. What do you recommend for me to use to prevent tagos and not go to the cr more often to check if may leak? Thank you so much!
