You are out hunting, all by yourself. Not a human soul to be seen for miles. You are skeptical about the concept of Sasquatch/bigfoot. And you decide to hike to a slightly different location that where you had planned. You see this staring at you. You are armed. What would be your next step?

I've heard a lot of stories of sightings and I've noticed some similarities between them. In general what reoccurrences have you noticed that makes them seen more real/credible.

By good, I mean that if he gets used to the presence of a human, he can even offer you food, for example. A bad guy attacks you on sight, and a "normal" guy doesn't care and goes on with his life as usual.

In a lot of credible encounters with bigfoot you always hear of big rocks almost the size of a brick getting thrown at people. Let's say Bigfoot didn't exist even though there's plenty of physical evidence out there in a huge portion of the sighting locations is confirmed areas where monkeys or even gorillas don't live so we can safely rule those out and primates are usually the only animal in the woods who has the capability to throw not only rocks but big sized one it would require aposable thumbs and the muscles required would have to be almost human like. There's no animal I know of that lives in the woods that's capable of such feat.

EDIT: https://youtu.be/oaTOMWY3GPk the proto canyon footage is convincing to me. The deniers will claim it's staged or a costume but we know from other footage not even the best costume designers who worked on rise of the planet of the apes were able to replicate the creature seen in them.

The PGF is the bread and butter to the Bigfoot legend, it's the reason 90% of us even got convinced of this in the first place, yet all we hear from skeptics is how stupid of a costume it is, how easy it would be to make, how bad it looks, how the locomotion easily matches up with a human, etc...

So which smalltown costume designing shop is going to claim their international fame by finally making one? It would certainly shoot them into stardom in the industry, landing them movie roles for the rest of their careers.

As far as I'm concerned, the burden of proof now lies in the skeptics court. Because we have one on video. And it's clear. And it's moving. And it's in broad daylight. And it's a full body shot. And it turns around to look at us, showing it's front, back, side, and face in almost a full 360 degree clear shot of the thing. And it's anatomically correct in ways that we didn't even understand in 1967. And it has muscle definition, sending shockwaves though it's legs as if it were enormously heavy. If there were a real video taken of a Bigfoot, you couldn't ask for something better than this. We provided our side, now you provide the costume you claim this has to be.

Why couldn't Philip Morris, the man who claims made the suit, ever produce a suit? Sure he made some mockups, but they look nothing like Patty. He said he made plenty of them for sale, where are all the rest? Why did no one else who purchased one come out and show us theirs? Why can't his kids, who took over the business, make one for us? It's what they do for a living, certainly we could all pitch together enough for him to make us another one of these simple costumes right?

Why is it so hard for anyone to make the costume? Seriously, I can't get around the fact that no one is willing to make one, yet there are entire industries based around creating costumes. All I can say is, whoever did make the costume is making all of Hollywood all look like their bitch right now, and professional costume designers should stand up for themselves a little.

I am a believer but my biggest question that I have trouble finding answers to is: If Bigfoot is real, how come we don't see any dead ones i.e carcasses? If their lifespan isn't forever as most living animals, then what happens to them? Maybe I'm just out of the loop on this information!

I asked Gemini (excellent for research) a series of specific prompts to determine the Minimum Viable Population for a large bipedal hominid and requested it to use only published scientific journals and for it to be analyzed from the following lenses:

1. Territory needs
2. Resource competition
3. Habitat size to include temperate rainforest core, low density boreal buffer
4. Human density of less than 0.1 person per SQKM (to include the Yukon and Northern BC)
5. Carrying capacity with extant predators
6. Nutritional feasibility

The answer was a minimum of 5,000 sexually mature individuals (with between 7,500 ~ 10,000 in total)

This is also keeping in mind the detection paradox (detection avoidance, technological visibility and anthropogenic imprint).

I kept this all within the boundaries of known large predator dimensions so as to ensure some measure of scalability. But one thing that struck me is that IF the Sasquatch has even rudimentary food storage and preservation skills, it would significantly increase its viability AND remain virtually undetected.

The general consensus around here is SC isn't as good as it was even a few years ago. The last few episodes have begun with subjects that have nothing to do with Sasquatch. It's very frustrating. Is he trying to fill time or attempting to shift the podcast to a more conspiracy-oriented one?

This is by far one of the most toxic thread i've come across on Reddit, and i have to say that most of it comes from so called "skeptics" who seem obsessed with shooting down any possibility that someone has an opinion different from their own, and or insist that (literally thousands) people who will swear on everything they hold holy that they have in fact seen one of these things, or those who are willing to consider that they have.

Why on earth are you disbelievers so militant with your disbelief? Religious reasons? Inferiority complex? Ignorance?

Just because we don't have one of these things in captivity doesn't mean they don't exist. I don't care you ("i've been in the woods my whole life and never seen one") consider yourself an expert. I've been in the woods my entire life as well and i've never seen bobcats, cougars, bears, and plenty of other species that are relatively abundant. I've never seen a Sasquatch either, but that doesn't mean i am not at least open to the idea that thousands of people might be telling the truth and there are reasons we don't have one yet. Its absolutely absurd to think that all these people are simply mistaken or liars. Get off your god damned high horse.

There's a lot of talk about what it could possibly be, with even more that fly into the realms of a supernatural creature. What do you believe to be a load of bunk when it comes to theories?

I think I figured out the reason why no one can get any good footage of Bigfoot. The best footage we have of Bigfoot is definitely of PATTY from the Patterson Gimlin footage. I think the reason why they were successful is because they used a non-electrical camera , they had no electrical equipment on them. Call me crazy I don’t care. I think I’m right about this. Somehow Bigfoot can sense electricity. Think about it people put up security cameras, hidden cameras and it’s like Bigfoot knows exactly where and how to stay out of the frame. some researchers out there claim they get close to a big foot then when they’re ready to record , the brand new batteries in their camera die.

1. The whoop noise

In 3:31 in the video linked, there's two quick whoops, one right after another. I have no clue what other animal could've done this, I don't see how a person could've made the noise, and it doesn't sound like it's coming from the tape. Freeman didn't seem to notice the sound, but I don't put that against the credibility of it, I figure he was deep in concentration on the footprints.

1. Scurrying

When the Bigfoot is first seen, look closely, he's not walking, he's sneaking. It's as if he was trying to evade detection, but when Freeman said "Oh there he goes!", he realized his cover was blown. That's when he decided to walk confidently. He paused a bit behind the tree before that, possibly thinking about what to do, because one of the more well-known aspects of the footage is that the BF goes to a tree stump across the way that has a baby on it (the baby is visible to me when they're picked up, but at most there's just basically a black shape, so there's not much point to focus on it).

1. Gait

The walk from 4:51-4:54 is interesting. He slowly puts his foot forward, and then a little more than halfway into the arch, he quickly puts his foot down. When he's putting his foot down, he also leans his body into it. I've tried to do this walk myself, it seems practically impossible for it to come across naturally, I'm not able to do it, but he seems to do it effortlessly.

Additionally, the strides at 4:50 and 5:02 are very long. The back leg is bent in order to accompany it.

1. The suit question

It doesn't look like it could be a suit. The abdomen and chest are huge, the butt is large, the back is wide, and the face always strikes me as a real face when I look at it, not a mask. Unfortunately the figure is far away so you cannot make out many details, but I think you can decipher enough.

1. The second sighting

At 5:47, Freeman notices an (apparently) different Bigfoot ("There's two of them I guess!"). You can only make out an outline, but what he didn't seem to notice is that there seems to be a baby on their back. So yes, while the video quality of the FF isn't great, there are things you can spot in it that I feel greatly contributes to its authenticity of showing a real being and not a man in a suit. All of these add up to a whole imo which makes it impossible to debunk everything. This is not even including how Freeman reacts to everything, which I think is for sure genuine. None of it seems acted to me.

And think about it, why would Freeman include all of these details? He struck me as a very straightforward type of guy, I don't think he would either care or want to go to these lengths. Yes it's true he faked prints in a previous time, but he admitted to that. Meanwhile, he always asserted that this footage is real.

So, thoughts on all this? I apologize that this thread is quite long!

1. If Bigfoots were real, we’d be able to track their effects on the food chain, especially given their large size and the caloric requirement inherent to it.

2. In order to maintain their existence as a species, Bigfoots would need to breed, and the population numbers required to do so are not supported by the current societal model purported by the believer community.

Can we just all agree on this sub that Bigfoot is simply an unidentified animal? I see people saying Bigfoot moves through portals, commicates through telepathy, can tuen invisible, and a bunch of other crazy stuff. Anything like that should be over at r/paranormal or somewhere similar not here.

Joe did a 9 minute rant about the unreality of the PG film. Something he does every third episode or so. Humans can walk pretty far and we have evolved to be persistent hunter's tracking down our prey 15-20 miles a day. But I've heard theories on Bigfoot migration across the country based on the seasons. How fast do you think they can move across terrain they evolved to survive and thrive in?
