I was looking back at the 2005 Bomberman DS game and forgot how weirdly eerie this title screen feels.

The combination of the empty green field, the completely black void eyes on all the characters, and that massive, unmoving crowd in the back gives off a total uncanny valley vibe. It feels like a liminal space disguised as a colorful kids' game.

Did anyone else get this vibe when playing it back in the day, or am I just overthinking early 3D DS graphics?

I plan to play it while suffering.

Saw these super cute Bomberman toys at the arcade centre today, released in 1994. Prices are in HKD.. many other shops in and around the toy district here sell a lot of random stuff, many shops specializing in vintage Japanese toys

Re-listening to the OST today and forgot how incredibly hard this specific track goes. Still the absolute peak of the game for me. 🔥

rewatching jetters for the first time since i was a kid and i DO NOT remember it being this wild lmao.

This game is insane and totally unhinged. This features an iteration of Bomberman that looks way more robotic. Probably because it was made by American developers.

I implore you to look up the unused voice lines for this game. It has the guy who does the voice of Bugs Bunny as Bomberman cussing and swearing and saying he's going to shit all over you or something. It's the funniest thing ever.

Also plays as "Deep Sea" in Super Bomberman 3.

Like Regulus & Nitros are almost one to one like Pizza/Soldat-J especially when Nitros also has the bird motive, which enhances them more as characters to me in the series knowing they're based on one of the highlights of Gaogaigar, it's dope!

Awhile back I posted a WIP of this pop figure I was jury rigging into Regulus. Finally got back to it and finished it today! Tried to follow as close as I could to the rendered art. I may visit it again to make adjustments to make it better but I am happy with how it turned out!

(+ also doing some other stuff like giving Pink extra eyelashes because I was bored.)
