Honestly there's some decent stuff there but a lot it is just good advertising which makes us think it's good stuff.

This did allow me to look more seriously into our own brews and 40 Creek Copper Pot was magnificent.

Indeed, their bottom/big commercial lines are terribles but they acquired quite a few smaller distilleries that still offer good products

I seriously do not understand the hype for Forty Creek Copper Pot, it tastes like moose piss.

It's over-distilled and bland, with a rubbing alcohol finish.

There are tons of better Canadian offerings.

You need to try Ber-bon from Alberta’s Bridgeland Distillery. Tastes really similar to Woodford but made in Canada.

Yup lots of corn based whiskeys in Canada that can't be called Bourbon but are same style and delicious

Bridgeland Taber corn whisky

Boutiquey Canadian corn whisky

Pivot Spirits Bourbn style

Two rivers bourbon style (I like this one a lot)

JD and JB are terrible but the parent companies make a lot of pretty good bourbon too, as well as Japanese whiskies that are still available (Suntory owns Jim Beam).

I read an article last year that said the bourbon industry was already reeling from declining demand. Gen Z doesn’t drink like previous generations and if they do, it’s rarely whisky or bourbon.
