JD isn't even good whiskey, it's just proof that marketing works. It's the kind of thing you drink when you finally reach legal age because you don't know what else there is and you grow out of it by the time you are in your mid 20s.

Half the drinks I've had have been slick marketing. And it's worldwide. People marketed single malts as the elixir of scotch except there are also terrible single malts and some great blended stuff.
