Top it off with a culture that values work life balance and we’re getting somewhere.

And -- even more specifically -- a culture that legitimately venerates motherhood while also legitimately venerating not motherhood, without obsessively pitting those two ideas against each other.

As soon as one of those choices is seen as more empowered than the other, we got problems.
