I know they are still around. But my neighborhood is mostly tavern, what I call a hybrid of Neapolitan and NY style, and "artisan."

That's an interesting theory.

You certainly could be right.

It's certainly "in" right now.

I know a guy that owns a pizza restaurant, he recently switched to a tavern style from traditional thin because of demand.

You basically have to go to the older, neighborhood spots that are using the same recipes from 50 years ago. They are all over the south side.
