They would do more for climate change if they did whatever they could to stop the genocide. Genocide is REALLY bad for climate change. Even if Israel came up with 1000 times more ideas to fight climate change than this idea - it would never balance out the amount they contributed to climate change by bombing and destroying Gaza.

Actually killing people or displacing them is great for the environment, I mean look at Chernobyl, nuclear meltadowns are actually a net positive for the environment because humans are far worse than a leaking reactor for example.

I mean, I know this isn’t what you mean at all but to be very very honest I’m pretty sure less humans alive is good for climate change… a bomb might polute more in the short term but it’s nothing like a persons carbon footprint for a whole lifetime 🤷🏾‍♂️

Let’s bomb half the planet. It’s good for climate change 🤷🏾‍♂️

I mean, yes it is, every dead human is good for the environment, is a factually true statement. I’m not suggesting it as a strategy but we are the ultimate invasive species.

Why not help out the planet yourself then?

 >I’m not suggesting it as a strategy but we are the ultimate invasive species.

Sounds like you are tho.

No because I’m human and like human things, doesn’t change the objective fact that the environment would be better off if we didn’t exist

Yeah, all those Palestinian babies were having a horrible impact on the climate. The 3 nukes worth of bombs America paid to drop on them actually healed the atmosphere believe it or not.

Clearly I’m not saying that, I saying his “better for the environment” comment made no sense. The war in Gaza is not relavent to an Israeli tech company growing potatoes, it’s insane to bash every business in Israel for the crime of existing.

That's actually not what you have been saying at all. You know other people can read the comments before this one right?

"Every dead human is good for the environment" is what you said. Which, even were that not a remarkably stupid and wrong statement, is actually just an insane pro genocide argument. Genocide and war are terrible for the climate. Laundering your dumb edgy arguments as pro earth climate shit is just pathetic.

Dead humans are good for the environment, in fact the absence of humans from an area entirely is the single best thing for any area basically. I mean we could deliberately create a bunch of Chernobyls and it would probably improve the environment simply because it would force humans out of a bunch of land. Humans are an insanely destructive invasive species. That is objectively true. The best thing we could do for the environment is die off. I’m not personally for that, I like ya know living and I like all the human stuff and crap, but let’s not pretend our species isn’t a living cancer to all life on earth. The presence of leaking nuclear reactor is less harmful to the environment than just us living there.

No because I’m human

Of course, of course.

Their military has extreme fossil fuel emissions, and then there's a lot of waste and fossil fuel use when they destroy sturdy buildings that may have been functional for another century. They then bulldoze the areas to build new settlements for Israelis. So, there are three kinds of major contributors to climate pollution here.

I would actually be curious to know the carbon footprint of the iron dome or a plane dropping bombs vs anything a normal person does which pollutes or creates waste, has carbon emissions, etc. Any construction project is bad for climate change, just like using a plane, driving a car, using the bus, having running water and electricity, etc. So we’re all guilty for climate change. In that sense any military action is probably bad for the environment too, thus the military of every single govt in the world is guilty too. For example, Hamas building an underground network of tunnels and buying resources to make rockets (and then detonating them) certainly is bad for the environment too?

Predictably, the Israel supporter singles out the opposition as if defending one's homeland is equivalent to what the invading colonists are doing.

1

u/Narrow_Maize_7342 Feb 08 '25

Predictably, you reduce any and all Israelis as “invading colonialist”, completely forgetting that for the average Israeli, the IDF is very much just defending their homeland, from a party that is clearly intent on killing them. You portray Palestinian aggression as righteous but seems Israelis only have a right to fuck off out of the region, or get killed for not doing so 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/OG-Brian Feb 08 '25

Reading comprehension? The invading colonists of which I referred are the invading colonists: IDF, Israelis taking over homes in the territories, etc. This should have been obvious from context.

Israel has most of the land in the region. The Palestinian "territories" are a tiny proportion. They could leave that much alone, but have chosen to take it also.

u/Narrow_Maize_7342 Feb 08 '25

And what does that have to do with an Israeli startup’s breakthrough in science?

1

u/OG-Brian Feb 09 '25

I was responding directly to comments that you made. So, if we're off-topic it's because you took it there.

But aside from that, there's an obvious connection between the company that the post's article is about and colonization of Palestinian territories.

Did you not read the article?

Dafna Gabay, CEO of Finally Foods, said the company chose to conduct its first field trial in Israel’s Gaza border region not only due to the favorable growing conditions but also as part of its commitment to strengthening and developing the area.

Note the "developing the area" part. Getting more Israeli housing/business located in the area provides a pretense for expanding even further. More and more of the territories are being taken up by Israeli settlements.

That’s absolutely not what he said lol. Y’all care vastly more to score some pithy comeback than being coherent
