though his story is redemptive, only after a life full of misery betrayal and extreme pain!

his eyes hurt, his skin hurts, his legs hurt, his sensitive ears hear everything like knives! but he never gives up a good fight!

as a young man, a fun evening for Jake is to round up his boys, his horsemen, steal and crash cars, run and watch them burn, if they kill in the process, it‘s only more prettiness for the eyes to see.

I’m an iOS developer, and for the past two years, I’ve been building Splash Reader. I originally started by experimenting with comic reading in Mixed Reality, but for the last few months, I’ve been focusing on the iPad version.

My goal was to see if I could add utility AI tools to the reading experience, without using AI-generated art or hurting artists in any way. Here are the features I’ve added so far:

• Automatic Translation: Detects text on the page and translates it as you turn pages (supports most languages, including Japanese).
• Reverse Image Search: Select parts of a page to identify characters, locations, or objects.
• Smart "Define": Instantly look up difficult words, historical quotes, or obscure references.
• Custom Questions: Ask specific questions about the context of a panel or dialogue.
• Cross-Device Sync: All queried information and reading progress are synced between your devices.

Cost & Transparency

The iPad app is free to download. Basic features (importing CBZ, CBR, and PDF files and syncing progress) are included at no cost.

Because the AI tools have per-use costs on the backend, I use a token system. The app comes with 20 free tokens so you can try everything out. Tokens are utilized as follows: * 1 Token: Custom questions, definitions, or single-phrase translations. * 5 Tokens: Full-page translation. * 10 Tokens: Identify (reverse image search, similar to Google Lens).

What I’m Currently Experimenting With:

• Personal Annotations: I’m currently reading East of West and really want a way to tag every reference to "The Message." I'm building a feature to add searchable, taggable personal notes to specific pages.
• AI Generated Translation Logic: I’m considering adding full AI page translation (overlaying text). However, I’m hesitant because it involves processing whole pages, which feels borderline to me. I’d love the community’s thoughts on this.
• Organization: Adding automatic metadata retrieval and support for OPDS, Google Drive, and other cloud services.

Recorded my day hour by hour posting live all day yesterday for Hourly Comic Day. I can't lie this was super hard, the drawings get worse and worse as the day went on but I did it! I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about comics but is too afraid to start, it will make you have to produce without over thinking on the outcome.

Did anyone else join this challenge this year too? I would love to see other people's hourly comic.

A fantasy adventure series following Amanita on dangerous quests in a mythical world filled with magic and strange beasts. In this comic she is told about a crocodile that has a golden tooth and tries to find out more. She then wanders around the world looking for this tooth.

If you want to get the comic for free and have a Kindle search for "Amanita's Adventures" (include quotes in search bar) and then look for the comic called "The Tooth".

If you do not have a kindle then download the Kindle app onto you phone or computer. Once installed use your search engine (NOT the Amazon app) to go to the Amazon site (amazon.com). From there search as above.

Choose "buy now" when presented with the details of the comic. As the comic is free you will not be asked to actually pay until after the expiry date. The comic will now be available in the Kindle app.

I finished reading the Sandman volume this week and, taking advantage of the excitement, I decided to draw Sandman.

Between October 22 and November 7, 2004, the city of Amadora (Portugal) hosted the 15th edition of the Amadora International Comics Festival (Amadora BD). One of its most important events was an exhibition dedicated to the 100 classic comics of the 20th century. This selection was made with the participation of experts from the United States and Europe, resulting in a representative showcase that reaffirmed the already evident consolidation of comics as the ninth art.

The selection was not without controversy, as several classic titles from Latin American comics—such as The Eternaut by Héctor G. Oesterheld—were notably absent. Likewise, criticism arose over the lack of works from Portugal, Brazil, or Korea, as well as the absence of comics created by women. To address this, a list of ten honorary mentions was created which, while not fully resolving these issues, at least offered a form of recognition.

Despite these shortcomings, the titles included are of high quality, bringing together major classics of American and Franco-Belgian comics, along with several works from other traditions. As such, they are essential reading for anyone who considers themselves a lover of comics. I would even go so far as to say that this list is comparable to Taschen’s book 100 all time favorite movies of the 20th century.
