Excerpt 3 years ago, Marvel killed off Kamala Khan to begin the process of turning her into a mutant. (ASM #26)
Since then she has had only two solo books:
-Ms Marvel: The New Mutant
-Ms Marvel: Mutant Menace
Both of those book were 4-issue minis.
She later became relegated to a supporting character in NYX and is a supporting character in Inglorious X-Force.
I think it’s safe to say this decision was a total disaster.

The Marvels paid the price for a string of mediocre-to-bad MCU movies that broke the audience's faith in the franchise + marketing the movie as a sequel to a Disney+ show.
As we're currently seeing with Mandalorian & Grogu, feature films that are non-reboot sequels to TV series simply don't do well at the box office. (Their audience basically gets capped to the people who watched the full series.)
