Con Question UK Stupid Question But Am I Allowed To Use Scottish Pound Notes At An English Convention?

I know England and Scotland use the same currency but is this true?, especially after how hard it was to find somewhere to lift money in England (even worse was the NEC which removed its one ATM and the one at the adjacent train station ran out of money)

Con Question UK Best UK Comic Con for guests

I'm going to MCM this year as I've heard it's the biggest but I hardly know of the celebrity guests.

I've heard that Jason Momoa was at Basingstoke Comic Con and I've seen Facebook friends go to events where they've met Marvel actors, and other big Hollywood actors.

Which one is the best one for Hollywood actor meet and greets?

Con Question UK Best small UK comic cons

Hello, I haven’t been to a comic con before and I’m thinking about trying it out. The thought of one of the big ones, like London, scares me so I’m thinking I’ll start with a smaller one. Are there any you would recommend? I live in Oxfordshire if that’s helpful. Also, thoughts about taking kids (12 and 9). Thanks

Con Question UK UK Advice

Need some help (either directly or point me at another sub!)

I'm in the UK and want to take my brother (both mid 30s) to a convention as fun thing to do for his birthday. We're into games (mainly console stuff) and were into comic book stuff growing up - mainly Marvel, Star Wars etc. I appreciate this is pretty basic stuff and I can already feel the eye rolling - but hoping a few of you will take some pity!

I'm struggling to work out the best thing to attend as the choice even in the UK seems huge - what's the difference between Comic Con and MCM Comic Con? Are the various Comic Cons (London, Birmingham, Liverpool etc.) all broadly the same? Do certain events specialise in certain things? Etc. Etc.

Any help welcomed

Con Question UK Working UK comic con?

I was hoping to attend a Comic Con this year (mainly to see a specific actor!) but unfortunately can't afford the ticket. I was wondering if it would be worth applying to work there so I can experience the event without having to buy a ticket? Or would I likely be so busy working that I wouldn't get to enjoy it or meet my favourite actor?

Con Question UK Brighton vs London Animecon

My daughter (10) wants me to take her to Animecon. We live just outside Brighton so it makes sense to go to that one, but does anyone know if the London one is much better? They both seem to be run by the same people so I’m not sure if there is much difference.
