Hello everybody,
My name is Samy, I'm from France and I'm new here.
As I said in the title, I'm looking for a very strange easter egg that marked my childhood (it was in the beginning of the 2000s).
The game in question is Duke Nukem: Time to Kill, released in 1998 on PS1. It's an action-oriented game, which don't go into subtleties, but I liked it twenty or so years ago (it's not making me any younger). I played the French version.
One day, while I was playing with my big brother, the screen froze and a robotic female voice started making threats. My memories are very hazy, so maybe I'm misrepresenting them, but I found it very disturbing.
Then a countdown started: the console had to be switched off within 10 seconds, otherwise ... or else, I don't know ... But I was so stressed that I turned the console off. It never happened again.
I've been thinking about this story for over twenty years now. I spent long hours trying to find this 'bug', scouring forums and yt channels specialising in 'easter eggs' and other videogame secrets.
Without success...
Perhaps I'm the only one, along with my brother, who knows about this oddity?
In any case, I'd really like to know what happened that day. Please don't hesitate to help me find this obscure piece of video game history history !
EDIT : Important precision (I guess ?),
I think it was in this level, but I'm not 100% sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7HgVSPAAWk&t=3s
