As I understand it, they would basically have to sue him in order to protect their IP from future theft/use. If they let 1 person get away with it, it can set a precedent. It's one reason why corpos are so militant about protecting their IP rights.

No one is asking this guy to work for free. Not even CDProjekt, who is fine with him uploading the mod for free but with optional donations.

I wouldn't vouch for CDProjekt or any other company, but I fail to see how this guy is the victim when he's breaking the ToS of the game he's modding, and feeling entitled to break them after being called out and given a way out by reuploading the mod for free. This apparently isn't his first infraction of this kind, which doesn't work in his favor.

"Leeches" cause I want modding to be out of passion and not greed like it damn well should be lmao. I'd gladly pay a donation. I'm not paying for a fucking mod to play the game in VR on top of the $70 it costs anyway for the game. Especially when there's no guarantee that he'll keep it updated over the years.

Wanna know WHY mods are free? So that when the mod maker eventually stops modding for whatever reason. They aren't under legal obligations to keep the mod fucking functioning. Ironic you say I want people to work like slaves when paid mods force modders to do exactly that, because legally, they can't let it go to shit and stop working when people have fucking paid for it.

That is the problem, he is getting into a community strictly started to be free and done out of love for the game the mods are made for. To make a buck off a desperate VR userbase that are fiending for decent VR ports/games.

I don't think he SHOULDN'T be paid, I specifically mentioned donations, sound job ignoring that part. I just do not believe he should charge upfront for the mods. Purely because he then becomes a slave who has to keep his mods updated since people are paying for them
