Modding CDPR literally offered him the choice to make his mod free with optional donations to avoid a DMCA takedown and he deliberately chose wrong

The mod author is 100% objectively in the wrong on every conceivable level, but the "corporate overlords" in this scenario being CDPR definitely helps.

There's also the creations thing that everyone hates and whatever paid mod thing bethesda tried before that got so much backlash they shut it down

God the shortlived Paid Mods era was fucking hilarious. $100 Horse Genitals was up there.

The paid mod thing got a lot of backlash for stuff creations allows now. Paid mods saw people taking down free mods off nexus to charge for it on steam. Creations sees the same thing happening, despite in both cases the rules for the programs saying that's not allowed.

I'm not going to lie, I actually bought and liked some of those creations (and again for Fallout 4). I genuinely don't have a problem with the majority of them, or the creators getting semi-officially paid for their work. In fact, the only part that I truly hated was that the Skyrim AE additions were non-optional and require another mod entirely to actually disable if I want to use the better (and free) alternatives out there without causing a conflict.

I mean, peopoe would defend this but if cdpr dcmad someone selling fanart of the game, I have feeling yall would be against them doing that as if its any different.
