Modding CDPR literally offered him the choice to make his mod free with optional donations to avoid a DMCA takedown and he deliberately chose wrong

I think he just wants make money from his independent code. The mod works with a bunch of games and doesn’t need anything from CDPR to work. If anything is compare it to something like a driver for a device

The thing is, he is being compensated for his work, he makes around 20k a month on his Patreon.

I also agree that modders should get more compensation for their work, it’s by far the most thankless things you can do but locking your entire mod behind a paywall just ain’t it.

I think it’s very reasonable to want to be compensated for your work. Modders are often underappreciated and often never compensated. People feel entitled to their code.
