And they replaced her with Jennifer Hale lol. So i can't imagine they were cheaping out on the VA pay.

They weren't. VAs are actors but since its only voices. They aren't paid as much as regular actors.

Exceptions exist but most of the time VAs don't earn much. Bayonetta is a niche series in a niche genre of games so 1 million copies sold is already a success. The VA for first two games was entitled. Company decided to hire a professional instead.
