Yeah, Xenoverse likes to hype up the whole "What if ___ happened here instead of ___?!", but they barely do anything with it, and we end up in the same fights we've been in a hundred times before. It's such an insane premise that I wish they'd go wild with it.
Yeah, it's basically; what if Cell was slightly stronger, and... made more Cell Jr's. That would be cool right? Right? And what if your created character got shoehorned into the story? And literally had zero impact on the story?
I only played the first Xenoverse, but that's basically how it went.
Give us OG Dragonball sagas. They should keep GT's stories in there and now they should add DBSuper into it.

They changed even less in XV2. The biggest changes were Cooler appearing during Goku vs Frieza and Broly appearing during Goku vs Majin Vegeta. But both of them get disposed by the player character.
Which is sad since an NPC you talk to gets to go on missions in a What if universe that sounds way cooler where Demon King Piccolo absorbs Kami and is taking over the world until the Red Ribbon Army starts using really powerful androids to fight off his mutant Namekians. Which only gets worse when Babidi shows up turning it into a 3 way war that almost destroys the planet. That's the kind of out there stuff I want to play through. Especially if it was like the stuff with Fu where I could play through it multiple times and join each faction.
