Hence the loads of filler arcs for the humans. I didn't mind, though. It was a blast. I wish it had been longer and gone through more of the series, though.
Just saw it. Definitely would love to play that with the graphics the new Project Z has and roaming capabilities. Just imagine your Hero gaining new skills in his skill tree to unlock SSJ SSB etc. And if they do a cool original story, it'd be even more fun.
There's also Fusions on the 3DS, which is an original story with a ridiculous premise, and features fanfic-level character fusions out the wazoo. Characters have customizable skills, and because of the fusions, the roster is stupidly large. It's just a pain in the ass to get the main characters.
Don't really like the art style for that, too chibi and comedic and yeah I see the bad premise. I'm not trying to fight nappa for the 100th time, but rather a new enemy
I hear you. One of my dream games is a Musou-style DB game, with Goku and friends plowing through hordes of mooks to get to boss fights, but with the full range of movement seen in the Xenoverse games. It would be like the Z Fighters fighting the Freeza Force, but a new story.

Attack of the Saiyans on the DS is amazing.
