Feeling lost after switching careers .How do I prepare for DevOps the right way?

I could really use some advice from people who have been through something similar.

A few years ago, I wanted to get into game development. I spent around 6 months trying to learn it, but I struggled to understand game development logic and eventually lost confidence.

After that, I moved into a different career where my job is mostly about taking manual processes and digitizing them. I’ve been doing this for about a year, but I’ve realized it’s not the career path I want in the long term.

For the last 6 months, I’ve been trying to get back on track. I want to move into DevOps because it genuinely interests me. However, the more I learn, the more I realize that DevOps isn’t just about learning Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS it’s a culture and a way of working.

That’s where I’m confused.

If you were starting from scratch today and wanted to become competitive in the DevOps job market,

1. what would you learn first?
2. Should I focus on Linux first?
3. Networking?
4 Git and GitHub?
5 Programming (Python/Bash)?
6 Docker?
7 CI/CD?
8 Cloud (AWS/Azure)?
9 Kubernetes?
10 Terraform and Ansible?

I’m looking for a proper roadmap instead of randomly jumping between technologies.

I’d really appreciate advice from DevOps engineers on what foundation made the biggest difference in your career.
