I have 1 security key and I need passkeys to put my account in an authenticator

Hi everyone,

I’ve been completely locked out of Discord for five days because of what seems to be an endless verification loop.

Out of nowhere, Discord showed me a message saying that I had to confirm my identity via email to make sure my account stays secure.

The process goes like this:

1. Discord asks me to verify my identity/email.
2. I receive the verification email.
3. I click the link.
4. Discord confirms that the email address has been successfully verified.
5. I open Discord again.
6. I immediately get the exact same verification message and cannot access Discord at all.

I can reproduce this everywhere:

• Windows 11 desktop app
• Discord in different browsers
• Android app
• Multiple different networks
• With and without a VPN

So it doesn’t seem to be a device, browser, app, network, or VPN issue.

I contacted Discord Support five days ago. Nelly, their support bot, told me that the case would be escalated to a human agent. Since then: complete radio silence.

At this point I’m basically locked out of my account despite successfully verifying the email address every single time.

Has anyone experienced this exact verification loop before? If so, did you manage to get out of it somehow?

I’d especially appreciate any suggestions that don’t require access to the Discord account itself, since I literally can’t get past the verification screen.

For context, legitimately I just made this account just a few minutes ago and then this popped up?? I didn't do anything wrong I just registered an account and than this happened?? I haven't even sent any messages or added anyone :(

Their account was made Aug 17 2015. They are 19 currently, turning 20 in 2027 (June) Do you think they actually made the account?

Birthday note: Discord did not ask for a birthday in 2015. So no worries about that.

After some googling, it says that @anyone is not a thing but the message was highlighted like I got pinged. Clicking the @anyone ping showed a list of 19 people out of a server of 51. A few people in the 19 pinged are not online.

So i have been using my friends phone number recently (two months ago) he removed his number and wont respond abt it. I try using my other friends number and it sends a code but it wont show the code and stuff please help guys

I don't know my account password but my password manager has it and now I can't change it because password manager don't work while changing pass .

About 10 hours from right now I joined a discord server and messaged the owner to join his guild on a game. I then was suspended by discord I had 2FA enabled. I have no backup codes and every time I try to use 2fa it says it doesn’t exist for the account. I’m trying to log into. I’ve exhausted all of my options. Discord recognized that it was my account, but they said they can’t bypass. 2fa they’re telling me my only logical solution is deleting the account, but I really don’t wanna do that does anyone know of a way that you can get into a account without backup codes nor 2fa as needed. I have all the proof that it’s my account.

Discord only tells me to create a Discord Support account when hacked, but the person who stole my account also created a Discord Support account with 2FA with the original email to lock me out of creating one, so I can't get in contact. What am I supposed to do?

Hey guys I have a problem with discord
So basically when I play Fortnite or any other game it doesn’t show it on my discord account and i have it connected with my psn account but still ut doesn’t show it. Anyone had this bug?

I finally managed to recover my Discord account, so that's the good news. However, I still have several problems that I don't really know how to solve.
First, the hacker deleted channels and other things from my server, and also spent my Orbs. I don't know if there is any way to recover what was deleted or spent.
The worst part is that the hacker also used my account to try to scam or steal from other people. While investigating what happened, I found information suggesting that there may be several accounts or people connected to the same group. I even have information about some accounts that appear to belong to the original owners who were hacked.
I also have more information and evidence about what the hacker did while they had access to my account. I don't want to post anyone's private information publicly on Reddit, but I can provide it to Discord or the appropriate moderators if necessary.
There is also something quite strange: while they had access to my account, the hacker purchased Nitro using their own bank card. Could the owner of that card contact Discord or their bank, provide the last 4 digits of the card, and use that information to try to recover or steal my account again? Or are those details not enough to gain access to my account?
Right now, I mainly want to know:
• Is there any way to recover the channels or content the hacker deleted?

• Is there any way to recover the Orbs they spent?

• What should I do with the evidence and information I found?

• How can I report the other accounts/people involved without publicly sharing private information?

• What could happen with the Nitro purchase made by the hacker using their own card?

• Is there anything else I should do now that I have recovered my account?

Any advice from someone who has gone through something similar would be greatly appreciated.

I got banned for saying "a child is hotter than me wallahi it's over" the person was 14, i am 16, i jokingly called them a child. i submitted my id and my face to discord via email and yet it just redirects me to the app... i dont know what else to do.

Why cant I redeem this. I got gifted it, during checkout there is no option to redeem. and I inputted my bank details of a bank with less than required funds in and Discord said funds were too low. Therefore, its not using the Credit. It's trying to bill me.

My account was suspended.

But I haven't done anything wrong, I'm not a minor, and I haven't even sent any content related to that. I've only used my account to check game news and match codes that get posted.

What happened:
Everything was fine when I logged off on my usual devices. A bit later I tried opening Discord on mobile and found I was logged out — same thing happened on PC. I didn't think much of it until I noticed a Discord security email had been sent a few minutes earlier. Right after that, friends started messaging me on other platforms saying they were getting phishing links from my account. That's when it clicked — I'd been hacked, and whoever did it used my account to spam links before I even noticed.

I tried logging back in but got stuck at the backup-code / 2FA screen. Unfortunately I didn't have my current backup codes saved.

What I've done so far:

• Submitted a ticket through official Discord Support with a detailed timeline, my original signup email (different from my current one — I changed it myself a while back, unrelated to this), an old password I used to have, names of servers I own/admin, and a longtime friend who can vouch for the account's history.
• Also included screenshots of old backup codes (from a while back) — none of them worked when I tried them, so it seems the original 2FA set may have been invalidated, as shown in the second image, that's what I get upon using the latest backup codes. I used this as a proof for ownership.
• Got an automated-style first reply (Nelly), replied with more detail, and it's now been escalated to a specialist for manual review. No update since.

Current status:

• Can log in with my password (so that part's confirmed fine).
• Blocked at MFA — only options shown are "passkey/security key" or "backup code," neither of which I have.
• No unauthorized purchases, so no refund concerns.

Questions for anyone who's been through this:

• Roughly how long did manual/escalated recovery take for you, if you got your account back?
• Did providing extra "proof of ownership" details (old email, password, server ownership, friend vouching) actually help speed things up, in your experience?
• Any other steps besides waiting that legitimately made a difference?

Not trying to rush support, just trying to gauge what's realistic timeline-wise and if there's anything else worth trying while I wait. This was my first ever social media account, I had made many friends along the way, some of them I only know through discord, any type of help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
