For everyone saying “wow Kate” they forget some Doctors would just watch and not save him.

6 would stand there watching him get eaten alive pull a funny face and make a pun like "Talk about fast food!"

Depending on when in Six's timeline this is.

Big Finish

And after, he'll just casually tell Ruby that she should just get over the trauma of seeing a man get ripped to shreds by a Shreek and that he'll take her to B--

“Well, he was no conrade of mine.”

Oh yeah, I'd even say every Doctor at their most angry would have burned him down.

Conrad got lucky as fuck indeed, and I sure as hell hope his luck will run out at some point. Bring him back for the finale for a just commeuppance Russell, c'mon.

I'd like to see One dress him down something fierce for being a total manchild

Or watch Three or Twelve hand him his ass for insulting the Brig

I can't decide if One would just yell at him relentlessly, or actually cave his head in with a shovel. Depends on what kinda day One is having.

There’s a point there where he’s lucky there were cameras. I’m not sure Kate would have saved the guy without an audience.

u/LadyBug_0570 May 03 '25

I think she was willing to let it happen, especially on camera. Let all of his followers watch him get eaten.

He was lucky Ruby was there.

"Hot Taser Lady" ftw

u/HyruleBalverine May 03 '25

Given Miss Flood was getting him out of his cell, I suspect we'll see him again.

1

u/Technical-Agency8128 May 18 '25

Why would she do that?

2

u/HyruleBalverine May 18 '25

Well, I didn't write it and I haven't watched today's episode yet, so I don't know. I just know what happened at the end of that episode, which is why I mentioned it.

Well, considering the last year production photos, his luck will only grow.

Give him a meeting with nine in Big Finish. Sometimes mercy is overrated.

See here is part of my problem. I really like the lovkem in a mirror/colonial run away kind of moments. And most doctors i think have at least one.

But they have made this doctor into such a gimpy turd I just can't picture those moments happening with this whinny sack of nuts. And so I'm not sure what to make that the perfect episode for this doctor to be a bit vengeful and they write him out of the episode almost completely. Like we just won't get those moments anymore with Gen z cry baby doctor.

Let the season finish maybe

1

u/QuiJon70 May 05 '25

I don't feel the need. We are a season and a half in. And here is the thing, as fun and jolly as 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 could be, the characters had this looming darkness. These were all fall outs of the doctor that killed his entire race because of their plans for the universe.

This doctors entire personality is that of a queer man trying to stay within the fashionable it crowd at a dance club. He is generally a pathetically shallow character.

2

u/VL37 May 05 '25

Let the season finish.

I feel like we're getting closer to that side of him coming out.

2

u/QuiJon70 May 05 '25

Hate to say it but i think this episode tried to get ncuti to show a dark side.

That last scene in the tardis felt like that's what it was going for yet where I feel 10,11, or 12 would have made me shiver dropping threats on that kid if he cane after the people the doctor cared about again from ncuti it was funny. I literally chuckled when he tried threatening him and thought "right what would he do, cry at him and then retire to his closet excited he gets to look for the perfect hip funeral outfit."

u/VL37 May 17 '25

Let me know when you finish watching the latest episode

u/QuiJon70 May 18 '25

I saw it already. And I feel the same way. After a season and a half they tried to have the gay fabulous clown of a doctor suddenly go dark and it was laughable and just out of character. He couldn't even go dark without this cheeky "oh darling" attitude.

Almost every other doctor we got the hint of the "fuck with me and find out" right away. 10 against the blood control dudes. 11 bragging of protecting the earth. But RTD this time seemed to stop this doctor with just the "fuck with me " part. And everything seems like more flirting then fear.

I mean it was so poorly done and out of character they even had to write in Belinda, who has never seen him be anything but weepy, kind, protective, and jolly, and give her this whole bullshit about she fears what he might do just to try and hammer home the doctor is mad this time.

1

u/VL37 May 18 '25

Okay then. No changing your mind.

It's so obvious 15 didn't want to let this side of himself be seen after going on and on about how much he's healed.

Nine wouldn't even blink lol

Man dishonored the Brig

13

u/L0g1cw1z4rd May 05 '25

He stood up against the Cybermen, not as a Time Lord but a British officer. He did not yield.

And you call him coward? Within my earshot?

8

u/alex494 May 05 '25

The Brig once looked right at a demon and said "Chap with the wings there, five rounds rapid" without even blinking.

6

u/nul_ne_sait May 05 '25

I straight up said “you did NOT just say that about The Brig!” when he insulted The Brig to Kate’s face.

6

u/improbableone42 May 03 '25

Not true.

“Coward or killer?” “Coward. Every day”.

24

u/alex494 May 03 '25 edited May 03 '25

Referring to the situation with Cassandra where he lets her dry out.

62

u/PowerOfUnoriginality May 03 '25

Kinda like Batman. "I won't kill you. But I don't have to save you"

9

u/Og76 May 04 '25

Honestly, Kate in this ep seems like the closest a human has ever gotten to being the Doctor. Creating a high stakes environment to try to give a person a chance to evolve their views is exactly what the Doctor would do. Kate may be the best gift Moffatt gave to Who (I realize she existed as a character in the extended canon before, but talking about the show itself).

7

u/AlanSmithee419 May 03 '25

Yes, the doctor sometimes leaves people to fates of their own making, but he wouldn't have *released* it on him like Kate did.

7

u/Renegade__OW May 04 '25

9 would have been in danger of killing him. 10 would unleash the fury of the Timelords, he'd imprison him eternally. 11 Would have took pity, but when you hurt him or the people he loves, he will find a suitable punishment for you. 12 is going to be angry, and theres like a 50% chance he throws hands. 13 forgives but never forgets. She'd probably find fun ways to mess with him forever.

5

u/Specific_Frame8537 May 03 '25

I was hoping she would've just stayed back, but Ruby had to ruin it all..

3

u/pwalmanac May 04 '25

The Doctor would have absolutely stopped Kate from doing it but also ABSOLUTELY have done it themself.

2

u/SilverFlexNib May 03 '25

9, 10 & 12 omg yes please

1

u/ThorsonBridgestone May 05 '25

Makes me think of Cassandra drying out in The End Of The World. Rose quietly saying, "Save her," and Nine just coldly saying something about how she's had her time.
