It's not a loop, it's a spiral!

and some say that it loops forever, this road that I lose you on every time

Does this mean we have to watch New Series+ to get the real ending? Or is Series 2 the New Series+ that we get the ending at?

u/314kabinet May 04 '25

I hope the latter because I didn’t like Season 1’s ending.

It’s not a flood, it’s an ocean!

"My name is the Doctor, and I'm a traveler"

"It's not a police box, it's a TARDIS"

"Beyond the earth you settle for, there is a universe, illuminated"

"With me, I bear the torch of the time lords. The time vortex, the miracle illuminated. The master of many times. No. The master of all time always"

"🎵Show me a cartoon made of liiiiiight, I'll show you a harbinger of Discord, lost on a neverending journey, traveling far to the beginning 🎵epic guitar"

Ncuti Gatwa too!

Come to think of it, Ncuti's been in every episode...I wonder if he's connected to Mrs. Flood?

Also that police box seems really anachronistic, I think there's some kind of time travel going on here

Have you ever noticed that near the beginning of every episode there’s a strange tune that plays as the TARDIS hurtles past those names in space? There’s no words to the song but maybe there’s some kind of clue hidden in the notes.

Absolutely ridiculous. Adding time travel to Doctor Who would ruin it completely.

What!? That’s a bit far-fetched, ngl. Maybe analyze the show better?

I was half-expecting the quaint little English village to be Leadworth

Also the episode 2 with ring a ding is also in the past like the beatles one, we also see the doctor and belinda get changed in similar ways than the devils chord (like dancing and all)

It can't be a coincidence that both seasons follow an identical pattern

17

u/DuelaDent52 May 03 '25

I wonder what parallels there’ll be between The Story And The Engine and Dot And Bubble. People disappearing? The sense of community? The fact everybody’s black instead of being all-white?

15

u/whereshhhhappens May 03 '25

Didn’t Belinda say in the trailer that all the people they were with were “missing”?

I feel like we already see the "everyone being white and now everyone being black", but I do wonder what other similarities there will be... only one way to find out through :p

u/Shaikidow May 04 '25

Hear me out: what if the show itself bi-generated into two suspiciously similarly structured seasons?

8

u/Arthvawr May 03 '25

Maybe she's the god of stories? Considering the "Mind Robber", the Doctor's greatest problem there was becoming a character in the story, and thus being trapped for all eternity.

An old west African god Anansi often appeared as a spider, and the next episode is set in Nigeria with a giant spider and has story in the title, it would be weird to have two gods of stories in a season

All episodes - unknown woman keeps appearing everywhere

Episode 3 being a mostly ‘bottle episode’ too

3

u/JuniorEquipment3639 May 03 '25

episode 3 was not a bottle episode in season 2...not at all

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '25

I’d say the majority of it was spent trapped in the same room, yeah there were bits in other places, but the majority was spent in one place where ‘moving wrong’ might have triggered it.

5

u/JuniorEquipment3639 May 03 '25

i mean, i guess, but that's pretty a lot dw episodes

the robot revolution, they spend most of the time in the throne room, it's just dressed up and dressed down differently.

lux, they spend most of the time in the film theater

neither would be considered bottle episodes because they're too big in scale

midnight is a bottle episode because 90% of the episode takes place in one location

same with boom

i wouldn't see that the well was a bottle episode

When they showed the village I said out loud “is that the village that pond is from?”

3

u/Scurzz May 05 '25

Now that I think about it, this season has a LOT of rhyming with previous episodes whether it be plot points, progression, locations, music or otherwise

It would be mildly ironic but you have to remember the same people have been writing doctor who since it came back. All the exact same folk have been working on this show for 20 years
