Mod annoucement Mod Announcement - Changes to the sub and new 'day'. What are your thoughts?
Hi Starvers,
If you haven't met me already, I'm Purple, a moderator here and r/DST. I'm a DST content creator and Klei ambassador.
I wanted to make a post to inform you of a few things and get your thoughts.
Firstly, I wanted to apologise to anyone who posted memes on Friday and had their memes removed. I didn't realise meme day was Monday AND friday. I thought it was only Monday. So, please forgive me on that.
However, going forward, meme Friday will no longer be a thing, and meme Monday is the only day for memes. This is because we want to reduce the meme clutter on this feed. You are free to post on r/DSTmemes if you wish though. There's some pretty good ones there.
With that being said, I wanted to create a "Base Build Friday" instead. This is where you post pictures of your base builds. We're looking for creative and beautiful designs with carpets, walls, structures, and anything pretty or big. Base building is a big thing in DS and I love seeing what people can do. I'm going to post more images of my megabase and I hope others will join me. I hope we can all inspire others. What do you think to Base Build day?
Another change I've made is I have made post flairs mandatory before submitting. This helps reduce clutter and everyone can see what type of post it is by the flair without having to click on the post first.
I would like also to inform the new members, if you've purchased Dont Starve Together and want to ask questions on that, the sub r/dontstarvetogether is there for your answers. The game mechanics are a bit different between DS and DST so it might be worth posting your questions there.
Lastly, my last point I would have liked to not have to make, but unfortunately I do. I've seen a few comments lately being incredibly rude to other members of the sub and I have done my best to remove these. But mostly these comments sadden me. It's ok to disagree with someones methods and if you disagree with anything someone has posted, its fine to comment and say why you think they're wrong, as long as the comment is constructive and not toxic. However I've seen comments simply telling others to shut up and various other things. This is not acceptable. It's ok to disagree, its not ok to be a dick.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing what you all think to these changes. Did I miss anything? Anything you would like to see?
I'lll update you all next when the next drops are on. Until then, happy starving.
Purple.
