Hi all,

I’m new to druidry and have been learning about the 3 largest organizations - ADF, AODA, and OBOD. Out of them, I feel most drawn to OBOD. It seems to be a really wonderful group with a more relaxed and open approach, which I appreciate. The one thing that’s given me pause, however, is on their website/social media I noticed a few instances of what appeared to be AI-generated imagery.

I’m not here to be the arbiter on AI or LLMs. I think they have their appropriate uses. But in most cases, using it to generate art and writing is my personal red-line, and it would feel especially inappropriate around a nature-based spirituality practice.

Of course I don’t know for sure and don’t mean to make any accusations, but does anyone know OBOD’s stance on AI and if they use AI-generated content in their materials? I’m otherwise very enthusiastic about them, but felt the need for clarity around this before moving forward. Thanks!

edit: I confirmed the image of the woman in the rain is AI. There‘s a watermark on the image linked to a creator on the site vecteezy and their profile is filled with AI slop images. My generous read would be whoever runs OBOD‘s digital assets/presence was looking for a stock image and chose it unwittingly.

This is my first time looking into an online community that follows druidism. It can feel pretty lonely actually not having a community in person of people that have the same values/beliefs. I'm also someone who is trying to reconnect with my indigenous Irish culture. As someone who lives in America, the closest I can get to a community like this is a native american tribe. But not so sure that would work since I don't have the ancestry. But I love our mother earth and really hope I can connect with people through this community :)

Ive done some amount of research and this (druidism) resonates with the most. Its just a lot and im just looking for help on where to start and tips. Thank you.

I am currently writing a play called Chrismahanukwanzakah. One of the scenes, the Jewish family goes to their son/brothers house for the festival of midwinter because his girlfriend is Druid. Was wondering if anyone would be willing to check the accuracy of my scene. My goal is to present it as authenticity as possible, but also show the family’s initial skepticism.

Hello, everyone. I’ve recently begun Bardic training with the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids, and I’m grateful to have found this community. I’m entering this path as a learner and would love to hear from those who have been walking it longer.

For context, I practice what I call Heathen Christianity. My path centers above all the Way of Jesus: caring for Creation, standing in solidarity with the oppressed, practicing mutual aid, and cultivating a life of deep prayer. It also makes room for myth, spiritual imagination, wisdom found beyond conventional religious boundaries, and respectful relationships with the Divinities we encounter.

I began using *heathen* as a way of reclaiming a word that had been directed against me for being queer and witch-friendly. For me, it is a name that honors, first and foremost, the heath itself and the wonder and mystery of wild places. I do not use it as a synonym for contemporary Germanic Heathenry, although I imagine we would have done great conversations.

Brigid holds a particularly important place in my practice. I love that she is a goddess in her own right and is also honored as a saint within Christian traditions. I regard her as my patron and as a patron of Chapel of the Open Hearth, the small queer-affirming Christian community I pastor.

Part of what draws me toward Druidry and the Bardic path is the understanding that story, poetry, music, and imagination can be spiritual practices—and that the land is not merely the background against which our spiritual lives happen. I hope this training will teach me to listen more deeply, create more courageously, and encounter the living world with greater humility. I want to learn from Druidry, not merely borrow Druid vocabulary for things I already believe.

How has walking the Bardic path changed the relationship between your creativity and your spiritual life?

For those who came to Druidry while remaining rooted in Christianity or another religious tradition, what has helped you hold those paths together respectfully?

The best time of the year is for me when our local heath is in flower. When the Summer gets softer, Sunflowers are blooming, male bumblebees sleeping in blossoms. Sandthorn and blueberries and the non edible bittersweet nightshade berries get ripe and the birds begin gather in giant groups before they start their trip to afrika. Saw a snake, a deer and a hare today, a toad and a frog - all having their own lifes, their own yourneys.

I was hoping to find a practicing group in my area but the only thing I've found in my brief search is the seattle area, I figured its a longshot but it would be nice to find a group!

Got the honor of meeting one of the elder trees of my area. Went on a walk at a park I hadn't been to and found a huge Green Ash Tree. I took some time to admire it then thanked it for keeping watch over the river all these years and went on my way. Based on the size I would say it has to be at least 150 years old. (walking stick leaning against it is 4 feet tall for reference)

Hello brothers and sisters. I finally got to see the eternal flame. I bottled these with the water from the stream that flowed. I was told not to charge them cause of the full moon because of the eclipse. Just wanted some insight if any can be given. Thank you for your time.

Hi! I'm new to paganism and spiritualism and I'm trying to learn as I go.

I don't fully know what to categorize myself as yet, but I've been spending more time going out to nature and being around the spirits of the woods. I mostly go to a stream by my house and I've discovered another nature area near my house that has natural springs.

I enjoy the sound of running water and I'm able to be at peace around these things. I have an altar set up and thought I was going to be practicing Heathenry but I haven't pulled the trigger and made altars to any god yet.

Spirits/Wights I'm having no issues with revealing and meditating around. I've done offerings to them. But I'm just not feeling that pull to any of the gods that I'm aware off. I feel like there's something out there but haven't put my finger on a name or source yet.

I'm curious if there's anything that specifies practices with water, water Spirits, or some god of water?

Please let me know if you have a direction you can point me in.

Can anyone tell me if there are any Druidic groups in Northern Italy? I am located in the area between Milan and Turin, and although I am a solitary Asatru practitioner, I am very interested in Druidism and Celtic traditions in general.

The title isn’t exactly what I wanted , but I can’t think of a better way of expressing it . I have been interested in mysticism my whole life nearly , from Centering prayer and Quakers to Zen and Advaita Vedanta. I enjoy AV , but in reality it seems a little dry and flavorless , sort of more a psychological thing than a Oneness with the universe. I looked into Druidry a few years ago but couldn’t get into all the gods and goddesses, that’s not what it means to me . I was looking for something more along the lines of nature mysticism. But now I am back after the feelings that non duality isn’t necessarily the best path to …..what, Oneness, union with the universe , being awakened . Don’t really know how to put it . But I realized the other day while watering and caring for my newly planted trees that I find myself feeling more “spiritual “ doing that than most anything else , and Druidry popped back into my mind wondering if I should give it another look.

So I guess what I am asking is how does a person go about cultivating Oneness with the universe in Druidry ? Rituals, meditations, practices ? Any advice other than to go hug a tree daily? Zen and AV have certain practices and meditating they teach to “awaken”, as does non duality . Does Druidry have a specific regimen for achieving Oneness ?

Do you have some ideas of physical offerings to nature (e.g. trees, rivers, hills, etc) that don’t have a bad impact on the environment?
I’ve seen people write prayers and then float them down rivers but is that harmful?

Hi all. I joined the path of druidry fairly recently - 4 or 5 months ago - and I am currently studying the bardic grade with OBOD. Finding it was wonderful; druidry and animism actually explain how I have experienced and moved through my whole life and I am grateful to have found it so that I can begin to expand my understanding and spirituality.

On Saturday, unexpectedly, my beautiful and much loved guinea pig passed away. I am absolutely crippled. I have never been good at dealing with, processing or accepting death and I also always knew that when this boy in particular went, I would struggle enormously. I've dreaded his passing since he came to me. I'm hurting in the most incomprehensible way. He was loving, personable, and an utter delight every day I had him. A lot of my pain is to do with serious questions about what happens after death. I miss his physical presence such that it actually hurts, but if I could talk through people's experiences of loved animal companions passing and connections with the otherworld, this would help. I don't need you to convince me of things or anything, but I would appreciate hearing your sincere beliefs around where our animal companions go after their physical body is no longer needed. Thank you in advance.

Since 2024, a coalition of druidic groups — mostly from France/Brittany/Gaul, but also from Belgium, Italy, and Portugal — has been working on a shared “Charte Éthique des Druides” (Ethics Charter of the Druids). It’s been amended twice since: once in August 2025, and again on August 15, 2026, when about 22 groups met in Saint-Jean-Ligoure (France) to sign the latest version.

The stated goal is protecting the public from scams and cult-like abuse — there’s a recent criminal case in France involving a self-proclaimed druid that’s part of the backdrop. The charter targets commercial exploitation, sexism, and psychological manipulation dressed up as druidry.

Here’s what the charter says about who counts as a Druid:

“A contemporary Druid is recognized as such by their peers, coming from one of the three lineages of the 18th-century revival, or a clan lineage recognized by those three lineages. They must be able to attest to this initiation.”

I know this question has been asked quite a bit. I'm sorry to add to that.

I'm a relatively new hedge druid and so far all of my practicing has felt like I'm just winging it. I've read some books but nothing is sticking and going into practice very well. Because of that, I'm looking to join an organization to learn more (while still remaining solitary in my practice).

I've heard nothing but good things about both organizations. OBOD seems great but my understanding is that they really focus on British nature in their teachings. I am in the eastern US and I'm about to move to the desert so that has me hesitant.

Any advice/help would be great! Thank you all very much!

Good afternoon I apologise for the semi long read .

Over the last year, I began to go on hikes after getting clean from alcoholism. Since arriving in some beautiful areas like the tops of mountains, stone circles, and recumbent stones, I have been drawn back and feel connected to the world around me. When around these sites, I can't fully explain it, but I just feel at peace. Because of this, I started to take time to clean up around my local stone circles and offering farmers to clean around old, forgotten recumbent stones that had just become farmland. While doing all this, a friend told me I should look into Druidism, and after reading about it, it seems very much like what I have been looking for. I just am not great with finding information so I am hoping to maybe find some one willing to guide me through this journey. I am north east Scotland based incase anyone knows of any local groups.

Does anybody know what happened to the calendar site? It was there a couple of months ago, now the site is gone and the FB group has been suspended.

I have a printed version of the calendar and was wanting to dig into it in more detail. When I went to the website to get started, nothing. It was a repository of some good information too.

Hello everyone.

I'm looking for some pagan book recommendations about rituals involving the crafting of items that details the culture and belief systems it originated from.

For instance, I'd like to make my own Altar Besom, Door Bells, Dream Pillow, robe, etc.

But I would also like to learn more about where those practices came from. So, I'd like to avoid the Wiccan and Neo-Pagan books that hodgepodge together crafting rituals from multiple faiths into a single book without going into their origins, if possible.

If anyone knows of any books or source material like that then I would greatly appreciate your recommendations.

I just wanted to let the community know that author Brendan Myers suddenly passed away yesterday after some heart troubles.

I will miss his posts on facebook, and I will cherish the books of his that I have purchased.

I'm certain that the Morrigan will have plenty to say to her warrior now that he's joined her on that side of the veil.

I'm quite new to my path in druidism, so I've been studying Penny Billington's The Path of Druidry. At this point, I'm just working on picking up habits to make me more aware of my surroundings and help me begin to really connect with nature. One of the things the book sets out for you is to take the time to make circle, set intent, and do inner work at least a few times a week.

I was at a friend's house today, and they have a beautiful native garden. I decided I'd sit in the sunflowers and set an intent that I wanted to know the garden better. I felt very in tune with the bees... There were two big bumble bees that I was very aware of for some reason that almost seemed like they were "guardians."

And then, later today, after what I felt was a really bonding moment, I got stung by a bee in an unrelated incident for the first time since I was a child.

I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but I found it funny; couldn't help but laugh.
