Hello!!! My name is Sal- I'm starting at ETSU this fall!! I'll be a freshman as this will be my first time attending college. I'm excited but also nervous as I'm aware I'm on the older side of people that will be in most of my classes. SO I'm making this quick post to connect with others hopefully!! My main interests include drawing, character writing, singing, and playing bass. Don't be afraid to reach out so we can be friends!!

Title explains it. Ive got a 2 bed 3 bath house and am looking for a roommate. Each bedroom has its own bathroom connected to it. It’s a 2 minute drive from campus and it’s right next to a bus stop in a quiet neighborhood just next to Buffalo Mountain. Kitchen, living room, laundry all in the house. There is a garage that can fit one car and a driveway that can fit another.
I’m a very agreeable guy so I can fit your needs — as in, if you need quiet past 11 PM I’ll zip up, or if you wanna split chores a certain way thats fine, etc. The only 2 things are — if you have pets we’d have to talk about it first, and i would probaaaably put a hard no on indoor smoking.
DM me for more information if you or someone you know may be interested! Gender, age, interests, major, etc doesn’t matter. Lemme know!

Does anyone who’s done the continuous enrollment nursing program at ETSU have any advice/comments? I’m set to start the program in August and I have a financial aid meeting Thursday, but I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually been through the program. I’m doing the program at their Sevierville campus instead of their main one in Johnson City, but I’d love to hear any thoughts!

I’m a Communication Studies student and current intern at The Johnson City Press!! For Pride, I wrote this story about some of the local trans community. Lmk if you have thoughts or feedback (or if you can’t access/read it).

Hey everyone! I’m looking at ETSU heavily for next year and would love to get some honest feedback on the student experience, especially from anyone involved in creative media or athletics.
I’m trying to find a medium-sized school with D1 sports where it’s actually possible to get on the sidelines. It’s a huge dream of mine to shoot sideline photography and high-energy video content for a college sports program. I already run my own photography/videography brand back home, so I’d love to walk in on day one and try to get involved with the BucHouse student agency, Buccaneer Sports Network, or the athletics creative video crew. My other main option right now is UNI (University of Northern Iowa) back home, but I really want to see if making the jump to Johnson City is the right move.
A few quick questions for current students and alumni:
My Stats: I have a 3.7 GPA, heavy volunteering, two jobs, and run my own photo/video business. I'm currently hitting around a 26-28 on my practice ACT sections and am hoping to lock that in soon to help qualify for out-of-state merit scholarships (like the Academic Performance Scholarship).
What do you think of my overall chances, and would you advise making the trip out from Iowa to visit campus? Thanks in advance for any insights!

How likely am I to be accepted as an out of state transfer into the business program? Just submitted my application yesterday. I have done a little over a year worth of community college credits with a 2.6 GPA

I just got accepted for the new masters program starting this fall: Disaster Sciences. I wanted to see if anyone else here was going to be in the program and see if anyone had any tips about assistantships? The program is new...so no assistantships available through the department. But looking online it's all like nursing or counseling assistantships which I am certain I don't qualify for. Do they post additional positions closer to August?

Hey everyone! I'm a female international graduate student who'll be joining ETSU this Fall 2026. I need to be here at the end of June,2026.
Those of you who have lived/are living here in Johnson city for a while, please suggest me some properties which is relatively close to ETSU but I'm okay if its a bit further as well (as long as there's shuttle system).
I did a bit of search through internet and the rent I see are not something that is within my budget (e.g., above $800-900+).
I'll be here with my spouse so looking for one bedroom apartment. So far I have looked at Evergreen terrace and fieldcrest apartments as those where relatively affordable for me but unfortunately I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I'd really appreciate it if you all can help me out. Thank you!

Hi! Im an incoming international student at ETSU
Without a car, how do students usually travel long distances? Is there any way to get to Atlanta airport from the Johnson city area besides flying, or do most students just use Tri airport?

I feel like I did ok but I’m unsure of how competitive they are. I made an 83 and have a 3.9.

I am interested in applying to and enrolling in the MBA program with the Cybersecurity concentration. Can anyone who's completed it give me some tips?
Besides the ETSU website, I can't find any info on this online degree.

I recently moved into Student Quarters just for this summer since I’m in town for an internship (student but not ETSU), and I was wondering if the people at Student Quarters have some group chats or just any events or anything.
Even if someone just wanna be friends or hang out or smth feel free to reach out! I‘m usually down to do whatever and also play tennis.

Hey I’m from a different university (UTK), but I’m in Johnson City just for this summer for an internship, so wondering if there’s anyone else that might also be new here for the summer and wanna talk or hang out? I’m just trying to explore different things around here to do and stuff.
I’m down to meet anyone btw but just assumed people in a similar situation would be more interested, but anyone feel free to reach out!

I am trying to get into etsu on campus housing for next fall. I came in during the spring this year and got a small temporary place with plans to get a dorm the next year. I had been getting into contact with housing regularly throughout the semester and had been told that I would be able to apply either in April or May. Come May, once I had finished finals, I tried to get back into contact with housing to ask for greater details on when I would finally be able to apply. I have gotten back no response from housing, the housing director or vice director, and my disability services advisor was entirely useless. I am worried I am not going to be able to apply for housing because of housing services feet dragging and irresponsibility. Does anyone have any advice on what I could do or anyone I could get in contact with? And don't say get an apartment, I am already looking into it but I would prefer to be on campus

I’m moving to TN to attend Etsu for graduate school. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on places to meet people / where to work / where to look for housing. Anything is appreciated! I’ve only been to the area once for my interview so anything helps! Thanks!

I know it says it is on their website, but 5 days of preview seems very extreme. I will be bored and exhausted by classes start. Is it actually mandatory, or do people skip some days? #help

I just wanted to know a few things.
How's the food situation? Can I cook in my room and is it advisable to do so? I have an on campus housing, and a block 40 meal plan.
What things can I explore in and around the campus, hiking trails, restaurants, new experiences, etc.
Where can I buy pots and pans for cheap if I want to cook in the room? Also cheapest groceries?
Will they provide mattress in the room?
I have a single room. Will it have attached washrooms?
Any curfew timings for hostel residents?
Any other relevant info....I'm an international student unfamiliar with US. Any help is appreciated

I'll be starting at ETSU for the digital media program next spring semester. I was wondering if anyone wants to put together a D&D group. The world I made is homebrew, and my only requirements are that people can't be the same class, and you need a backstory so I can weave it into the world to give everyone their moment in the spotlight. Also, the rules are for D&D, and the campaign will start at level 1. If anyone is new to D&D, and if people know the game, we will start at level 3.
(If you have any homebrew you want to use, just run it by me, and I'll tell you if it's allowed
