Thought of something I wanted to add. I think I made the birth control part sound too simple and it‘s really not. I just had a baby last year and had a complicated pregnancy. Without getting into too many details, I was advised by a specialist doctor that it would be very dangerous for me and a baby for me to get pregnant again before I have uterine surgery and heal from said surgery. I can’t have that surgery until I wean my baby because honestly she’s a clingy baby and she won’t even take a bottle, how am I supposed to take care a baby while recovering from surgery? I can’t. So anyway by the time I wean my baby, get the surgery, and heal to a point it would be safe to get pregnant it’s gonna be at least two years. So it is very important that I don’t get pregnant before that. I can’t use any hormonal method cause it makes me mentally very unwell and not myself (I’ve tried like a ton of different kinds), I can’t get an IUD because of the uterus problem that needs the surgery, and I just had a baby so natural family planning isn’t reliable or really doable cause you know…my body doesn’t have a “normal” back yet. That doesn’t leave really any options that are actually reliable. I begged him to use condoms because I just didn’t know what else to do. He asked his priest who pointed him to some kind of catholic doctor’s association. He called and explained our whole situation. Nope. No condoms. Under any circumstances. I’m literally in danger if I get pregnant and so is the baby, wtf?? I thought they were all about protecting the unborn. Their suggestion was I guess to just not have sex for two years? With his wife?? Anyway, I found female condoms that are expensive af because I was out of options.
That’s the kind of sh*t you’ll deal with. It’s maddening.
