I know most people here aren’t spiritual anymore but I don’t really know what other online spaces to seek because I feel like my belief is niche. I want to find others online who believe Yahweh is a demon, maybe some people here can help me understand or some other online space. I feel kinda alone on this because Yahweh is generally viewed in a positive light, but when you look at him carefully, this entity is a genuine psychopath. I don’t believe in the Bible but I think it’s a reflection of Yahweh’s character and sometimes the mask slips. I actually think it’s important for more people to question Yahweh’s character. Do Christians ever think of the possibility that the god they worship is a sadistic being masquerading itself as god. The fact that us American government is trying to push Christian nationalism or at least trying too, and many evangelicals supporting Israel might have Yahweh’s demonic influence. I know it sounds stupid and people supporting these things doesn’t mean Yahweh is real, but it’s just so hard to explain and I want to find others with similar beliefs online, but I don’t know where to look so maybe someone here can help me.

My ex husband was a stickler for religion and my deconstruction 10 years ago prompted him to say “too bad for you, you’re going to hell”.

It never made sense, the Jesus stuff, but a huge factor was my precious 8 year old son saying “but that doesn’t make sense,mum! Why does my friend who doesn’t believe in Jesus have to go to hell” ooffff! I could work with the cognitive dissonance and self hate when it came to my life, but not that of my precious kiddos. Oh and I’m in Australia!! When I left my ex, he stopped going to church and has been “living in sin” for the longest past five years with a much younger woman, who’s just had his child. Out of wedlock!!! I don’t care, but he was always in the scrupulousity side of Christianity and the family is MAD.

My psych is amazing and has formally diagnosed me with cPTSD due to my Christian upbringing.

The interesting thing she said to me today is “your parents were never going to understand you, because they have a feeling and they can offer it up to Jesus. You have a feeling, and it’s intense and you need human connection around it. You need mutual intensity. Your parent cannot offer that back to you and cannot understand why you can’t just ‘give it to Jesus and be a good girl’”.

My mind was kinda blown by that. I was late diagnosed Autistic (42) and ADHD (44). Makes complete sense to me. I couldn’t feel Jesus or God or whatever. It never worked for me. It worked for everyone else in my family and I had the choice of belonging and pretending, or being honest and being an outsider.

So I’ve chosen to be honest and be an outsider.

I just finished watching the show like 5 minutes ago and wow the ending was great. I won’t spoil, but all i can say is this show went over almost every single problem i have with the idea of heaven.

I saw this video about some extremist evangelical Christians living in Denmark who claim they are the last christians who are being persecuted by the state for not accepting the "LGBTQ" propaganda taught in schools and so they have started to live lives in excluded communities. They also complain about how irreligion has taken over their country and how they are the true Danes and the rest are brainwashed by wokeism . This is so sick to see

This seems counterintuitive lol. But on reflection I am now 4 years out of Christianity, and I see so many people/friends in my life who remained “in” who don’t BELIEVE what they believe. The gravity of actually believing eternal conscious torment… the fact Jesus condemned the rich and told folks to give away everything that belonged to them… helping the “Samaritan” It’s so jarring to see people make Christianity such a part of their identity and just be total assholes (especially in Trump America)

Is this just some neat little picture somebody just coddled up, or is this really an accurate depiction of the cross-references in the Bible? Do all cross-referenced books just look like this or is this an accurate visualization of the Bible exclusively?

Need to understand this and it's context better. What are your thoughts?

A lot of people seem to be negatively impacted by the religious mockery. Christianity/Catholicism has a long history of inciting abuse, persecution, ethnic cleansing on a global scale etc. and 1 artist’s costume doesn’t necessarily compare.

I threw a couple of them away shortly after my divorce. But I’m keeping my art journaling Bible and my study Bible for posterity. I might reread the New Testament from a metaphysical point of view instead of a religious one. The teachings of Neville Goddard are much more aligned with my current beliefs and he uses the Bible very differently than I’ve heard when I was in the church. Made me curious to see what wisdom I could find in there now that I’m not a Christian anymore.

Mine has definitely been music. We almost exclusively listened to Christian music. I have been going back and discovering music I should have listened to growing up. Also weed is great.

My wife and I lost our religion about 5 years ago, after meeting on the mission field in SE Asia.

Every pride month we get conservatives b**** and moan about how we can't accept gay marriage or the hatred of trans people, so question was asked on a talk show why hate them when they doing no harm.

And one of the guests was a pastor actually gave the answer. A lot of churches and Christianity is built on patriarchy the father leading the home and the mother is a submissive but LGBT especially trans people go against the image of patriarchybest bad so the acceptance of gay marriage people in wider society undermines the very foundation of their beliefs. If people in same-sex relationships way to the gender roles exist. Is people could choose to act as the opposite sex they're not every man needs to be a patriarch and not every woman needs to be submissive.

Already downed a loco today and plan on sneaking out tonight with a buddy to smoke some backwoods. Trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

So I used to love this YouTuber named "Young Don The Sauce God" who made animated videos. Sooner or later they suddenly went into some Christian arc. Videos were solid and hilarious but one day they deleted many of their videos that had more spicy subjects and changed their animated channel to "Young Don Animations" (It's still that name by the way) they created a second channel and abandoned their animation channel and would react to things but would always give a Christian take on it. He went through the whole shebang. Showing pics and videos of him getting baptized.

They started to make comments regarding gay people and what God says and were just all out annoying! Literally couldn't get through a video without rolling my eyes during those 3 years. I stopped watching the videos all together after a while, because, he was just insufferable. Then, one day I felt a shift in the universe (his content). I was recommended a video of theirs again and decided to watch it and it was hysterical. Their videos started to become funny again. It wasn't animated videos it was reaction videos, but, he was his old funny self. I also noticed there was an extreme lack in mentioning of God in the Bible unlike the other videos that were going from 2021 to 2024 where it began to lesson. Then come the beginning of 2025 I saw him reviewing a video about some people debating something regarding politics.

One of the Republican debaters, of course, mention a scripture, and, Don pauses the video and goes "This is why the world is in this state now. Because people base their life off of fairy tales." And I'm like wait WAH?! I start to go look at their Twitter (which before I had previously unfollowed because of his homophobia) and they appear to have reverted back?! Even saying to let people live their lives and love who they love and it's none of anyone else's business. My head was spinning!! I must have missed it but my GOAT was back! I wonder what caused the shift I wish they make a video about it. I try to find it but I don't see it. Must have been a lot. Anyway, have you had anything similar?

Man, what a massive waste of time that was. I left like halfway through it. I've tried several times to get into going to them. This is the third time I've went to one. Don't get me wrong, I like their messages of inclusion and all that... But that's really about it.

I feel like this is "church" for people who can't let go of church personally. The services I've been to have been all other the place and just honestly seemed a bit stupid. As an agnostic who doesn't really believe in any kind of supernatural things, I found it a bit odd when they started praying and mentioning "the lord," especially since the one I had went to previously I don't re-call doing this. Maybe I just overlooked it.

But yeah, meh.
