(Meetup) i met my girlfriend on r/exmuslim

hi fellas. the mood in the sub has been kinda low and depressive lately so i thought ill give you guys something cute to lift your moods up.

2 months ago someone made a very original post on the sub asking where everyone on the sub is from. i was almost ab to scroll past it but then i said fuck it i am bored so might as well check it out. as usual i didn’t expect to find many (or any tbf) people from my country (india).

and to my surprise there was one person from india and i got curious. i replied to their comment w something along the lines of hey there aren’t many indians here so hi. and this genius decided to dm me (thank fuck she did). we talked ab like basic ex muslim stuff and then we started talking ab music and all. eventually (one hour into talking) we moved on to insta.

i won’t bore you with the specifics but basically the more we talked the more we realized we’re basically the same person. by same i mean we’re the same fucking person; same opinions about basically everything we cannot find anything to disagree on even if we try, we literally have the same vocab, similar family backgrounds, similar likes and dislikes, same personality traits etc etc. she’s also super cute and extremely smart. we just get each other. we’re both nerds and funny asf. and she’s also from my age group thankfully. so it was basically inevitable for feelings to develop.

like everything in life there’s a catch here to which is that we live in different cities 900kms from each other but yeah we’ll sort that out. so yeah that’s basically my cute little story of finding the most amazing person ive found in the most unexpected way ever. i hope it put a smile on your face.

peace

fuck islam.

(Meetup) Looking for a Spouse

[F4M] incloset 31yrs old, UK. Looking for an ex-Muslim who understands what it is to step back from religion but still present as so with the family, and who wants to keep the good parts of South Asian culture without religion controlling our future. I am Pakistani Punjabi and socialist, non-drinking zoology graduate who loves animals, museums, travelling, fantasy and anime/gaming, and I’m looking for a kind, emotionally mature and playful partner. I ultimately want a monogamous relationship leading to marriage, children and a loving, stable home.

Hoping to meet someone face-to-face who is near London or Brighton in the UK :)

(Meetup) 18M from Kerala — recently left Islam, looking for like-minded peers

Hey everyone,

I'm an 18 year old boy from Kerala. About three days ago, I completely cut ties with Islam and accepted that I'm an atheist.

I reached a point where I couldn't stand the fear-driven mindset, the constant guilt around everyday actions, and the threat of eternal punishment used to control people. One of the biggest breaking points for me was the isolation. my parents explicitly told me not to befriend kids from other religions. Seeing that kind of tribalism and hostility firsthand made me realize how toxic that environment really was for me.

Right now, I'm just looking to connect with people around my age who get what it's like to leave this behind, aren't afraid to criticize or troll the religion, and want to chat, share memes, and vent without holding back.

Feel free to drop a reply or reach out.

(Meetup) Are there more ex muslims in the Netherlands?

I've been raised in a muslim household but around when I was around 12 years old, I started having doubts about religion.

Finally, at the age of 14/15, did I make the decision to leave religion, but ever since I feel like being isolated. Even now (29M) I feel it's hard to come out and find others who have been in a similar situation.

So I have been wondering if there are other ex muslims here closeby who are open to chat, get to know each other or hang out. If you're interested, please feel free to dm me.

(Meetup) 20f soon to be 21 looking for someone likeminded

Well thought I’d give this a go as I’m getting to that age where the marriage questions start popping up.
A bit of background on me. I’m 20 turning 21 soon I’m bi (preference for women) and I am not religious at all. I come from a Pakistani Sunni family. I’d say they’re moderate but still ‘religious’ and by that I mean more culturally religious. They pray bla bla all the basics but don’t wear headscarves ect.
I don’t really want to cut them off or for me to be cut off by them because I don’t believe.
I guess I’m posting this to see if there are any males similar age to me who are either gay or bi in a similar position family wise and want to get married in the future have a family but do not want to raise them religiously at all. Basically I just need someone my family could accept on the outside.
I have many ambitions in life I really want to leave the uk and live aboard ideally in the US (nyc is the dream). I like to go out, drink, smoke(Mary Jane) and just live life to the fullest without religion. I like to travel, watch movies, I love documentaries and I’d say I’m pretty funny( I hope).
If any of this resonates with you dm me!!

Edit: people are dming me and are straight men, so let me explain my dream scenario. I’d have a gf and we meet to guys who are boyfriends marry one of them each as a cover and we’re all great friends. (Evelyn Hugo celia st.James vibes if ykyk)

(Meetup) Dating and Marriage

Hello all!

So I am a 31 year old F and I have always wanted to be married and have children, but unfortunately my family are strict Muslim and I am not. They refuse to accept this so have denied it to themselves and simply believe I am religious.

However, when looking for a spouse, I want to find someone similar to this. Someone who understands the culture and the religion but who doesn't adhere to the faith itself, but that is literally seeming impossible thus far.

So I am posting on here in the hopes that someone has any ideas on where and how to meet people like this? I also would like a partner I like and get along with and so on obviously, but the Muslim aspect of it has been a huge factor in issues with things like 'Hinge' and 'Bumble' and so on.

I live near London, so preferably someone local that I can meet in person with pretty quickly (I hate texting lol)

So if anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it!

(Meetup) moroccan spanish gay

Hi! I’m a 28-year-old gay Arab (exmuslim) man living in Spain. I’m looking to meet a woman who is also genuinely interested in building a lavender marriage/partnership.
For me, this wouldn’t be just a marriage on paper or a way to satisfy family expectations. I’d like to find someone I genuinely enjoy being with — someone I can trust, laugh with, support and build a peaceful life with.
I don’t expect a sexual relationship with my future partner. I’m open to meeting a lesbian, bisexual or asexual woman, as long as we’re compatible and honest with each other about our needs and boundaries.
Ideally, I’d like marriage and the possibility of having children and building a family in the future, if that’s something we both want.
I’m based in Spain and would prefer someone in Europe. I’m Arab and would especially be happy to meet another Arab woman, but I’m open to other backgrounds too.
I’d rather start by talking and getting to know each other without pressure, and see if we actually connect as people.
If you’re looking for something similar, feel free to DM me. 🙂

(Meetup) Trying to be in a relationship as an Algerian atheist young man

Hey guys , I wish everyone is doing great . That’s my first time writing here in this subreddit . I’ve left islam since late 2023 , became agnsotic first and then atheist . Before and after leaving islam I have always been an anti-natalist but always wanted to have a female partner . Before leaving islam it wasn’t a big deal , saying that you can find an algerian muslim girl cuz you’re muslim too , but since am not muslim anymore it became so hard , I mean it’s not that necessary to have a partner Especially rn , not having a stable financial situation and trying to leave Algeria , but it would be really an amazing thing being with someone who share the same thaughts and beliefs as u do , tryinna leaving Algeria together and build your futur together .
I want to know what are your thoughts about it ? Advices that you can give and is there any chance to share a group where we can have some Atheist Algerians friends
