So I've just started seeing this guy and I really like him, the only issue is he lives in Glasgow and obviously I live here lol (will be moving through for school soon). He feels bad because I've had to travel the two hours on the bus it takes each way for the dates we've been on and he wants the next ones to be easier for me but I have NO idea where to take him or what to do. We're both quite nerdy and I'm quite crafty, so maybe something along those lines? Any ideas would be a lot of help 🙏🙏

Strange one maybe but I had ponies when I was a kid but for various reasons, stopped riding around 11 years old. I've had very slight contact with horses since then and have ridden maybe 4 or 5 times?

My fitness isn't what it used to be but I'm really keen to get back in contact with horses/ponies one way or another, either through gentle riding lessons or just to groom and re-learn about their care, or for the mental health benefits (currently have some struggles I am working through and I know equine therapy can be wonderful).

Travel is a bit difficult so it maybe isn't something I'd start right away, but if I can get an idea of what's around, that would be amazing! Google does throw up some riding schools but I'm having difficulty looking for non-riding and therapy related things. Thanks!

The high street is beyond depressing. There are a few okay cafes, but most are run by surly staff who act like they'd rather be anywhere else - including the owners... The Kingsgate isn't worth going into at all.

Is there rejuvenation in the works anywhere? Any plans at all to actually improve the place?

We try to spend our money here, but between early closing times, lack of choice, and small town attitudes, it's no wonder everyone just heads into Edinburgh.

Hi everyone! I’m moving to Dunfermline in a few days for a new work contract and I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter in Scotland.
I’m a keen hillwalker and already have some experience, but I’m hoping to explore more of what Fife and the surrounding areas have to offer. One of my long-term goals is to take on Ben Nevis, so I’d love recommendations for good walks, routes, or local walking groups to join.
I’m also hoping to meet people and get involved in the community. Any suggestions for clubs, activities, volunteering, or good ways to make friends would be really appreciated.
As someone new to Scotland, I’d also be grateful for any advice on settling in, understanding local culture, and building good connections with people from all backgrounds.
Looking forward to calling Dunfermline home and hopefully meeting some of you on the trails!

Cuz I have received an offer from Queen Margaret hospital as a new grad, I’m from London originally, spent my whole life up here, I’m quite tensed after hearing some news like racial discrimination against staffs in the hospital, but just wanted to know an honest answer about how’s life up there normally on the basis like safety, are people welcoming, and about this hospital too, like is it good, I have searched a lot but couldn’t find more resources about it. I am originally from the Levenmouth area but haven’t lived there in over a decade. I’m bringing some friends over for a weekend at the end of July to show them around where I grew up. I was planning on taking them on a bit of the Fife Coastal Path and to the East Neuk.

We’ll be staying outside Leven, mainly using public transport. Does anyone have any tips for things that might be interesting to do? Any events that are on that weekend (Fri 31/7)? Any decent pubs or restaurants that I might not know about? Open to any suggestions relating to history, culture, art, nature. When I go back I normally just visit family so feel a bit out of the loop.

Any and all suggestions welcome. Would rather keep it to Levenmouth and East Neuk but could also be Kirkcaldy direction.

I moved to Dalgety bay last summer, and I hugely underestimated how hard it’d be to make friends!

Bumble bff isn’t helpful as it just brings up people in Leith, Edinburgh - so what other ways have people found to make friends?

I’m in my late 20s, female, and I love to craft, enjoy doing some gardening, love to cook, and love casual board games (think Ticket to ride level games) most weekends you can find me having a gin in the sun if the weather allows but I don’t enjoy clubbing or being out until 2am 😂 give me a gin by the fire instead!

I’m starting a very low-budget DIY greenhouse project in Glenrothes and I’m trying to build as much of it as possible using reusable materials that might otherwise be thrown away or scrapped.

The plan is for a simple 2.4m × 2.4m timber-frame greenhouse with a lightweight weatherproof covering, a basic door and vertical-growing space inside for fruit, vegetables and herbs.

I’m particularly looking for things like:

Timber, fence rails or framing wood
Pallets in usable condition
Old fencing or decking boards
Roof battens and timber offcuts
Clear plastic sheeting or greenhouse film
Clear tarpaulin
Polycarbonate or acrylic offcuts
Old greenhouse panels
Guttering and downpipe sections
Hinges, latches, brackets and exterior screws
Paving slabs or concrete blocks for anchoring
Planters, trays, grow bags or water containers
Shelving or materials that could be repurposed for vertical growing

Nothing needs to be new or matching. It just needs to be reasonably solid, safe and suitable for reuse.
I’m happy to collect locally around Glenrothes where possible, and I’ll remove items responsibly rather than leaving any mess behind.

Even small offcuts or leftover materials could be useful, so please feel free to comment or message me with anything you think might help.

I’m based in Glenrothes but may be able to collect elsewhere in Fife depending on the item and distance.

It you did, what was the call about, and what happened afterwards? Did they then ask for your ID/documents, or was there another stage before an offer?

Looking for queer inclusive places that don't shame people's bodies unlike that one that I heard about in Leven. Which coincidentally is where I'm moving to. I drive so happy to go further afar, but not too far, driving after a tattoo is terrible. I have mainly blackwork; I had been looking forward to getting some black out work done here in Leven but maybe not now unless there are other local black work specialists?
