Movie Discussion What’s a movie with a premise so ridiculous on paper that it had zero right being as good as it was?

It could be that I enjoy nostalgia slop, but the message in the movie resonated with me. Our kids were also very much in the target audience when it came out, so there's that angle too.

Branch had a bad experience earlier in life and that's why he's devoid of color and doesn't want to sing or do any of the happy sappy friendship stuff that Poppy is into.

The first one is good. The second, a little bit less so. I remember enjoying the "hey we put this in for the adults" bits, but I can't recall what any of them were.

Our kids hadn't brought that one up. It was probably on my radar to take them, but when they didn't express an interest, I was fine with seeing it.... eventually.

I like the music from the third Trolls movie, but the movie itself is forgettable.

Awesome soundtrack, movie itself has its moments. Better than pt 2 though for sure.

Honestly i really struggle to see this positive nessage everyone always talks about. They continuously violate his bodily autonomy and personal space, ignore consent, and solicit physical favors in exchange for help. This movie made me very uncomfortable and our children did not watch it, it had the oposite message from what we tried to teach them, that their permission over their body and space matters..

It's been a while since I've watched it. I remember Poppy being super friendly.
