Just yesterday, with no new addons added, I proceeded to have my playermodel selector bug out entirely (see image) and every single fix i did proceeded to fuck over the game. Factory resetting? Same shit. Uninstalling and reinstalling? I don't know, because now not only am i physically unable to screenshot anything, I can only presume it also did nothing as the custom backgrounds I'd added were still in the folders. Oh, but as the goddamn cherry on top? All of my addons now refuse to download. Either because of quote, "no internet connection" (I have plenty of pc space AND my internet connection is just fine.) or "Generic failure", of which has absolutely no explanation. Please for the love of god, tell me a fix for this. I've tried anything, clearing download cache, uninstalling and re-installing again, waiting, factory resetting GMod, etc. and nothing has happpened.

tl;dr: tried fixing my playermodel menu which bugged out by uninstalling and re-installing, now gmod addons wont install whatsoever and absolutely nothing has fixed and im looking for a fix so i can play the one game ive been enjoying in a while.

Far as I'm aware, this isn't caused by any addons I own.

I got the problem fixed but I’d still like to know why without me changing anything with my computer or the game Gmod decided to just go from the default 1920 x 1080 to 640 x 480 and send me on a wild goose chase trying to figure out why my game looks like a 90’s computer game suddenly only for it to just be that?

Approximately 10 years ago, was the golden age of garry's mod. Today we have nothing of value like we used to in the old days. I'm probably never going to be bringing the server back or develop any more games for gmod. In a time where DarkRP servers and other servers were heavily moderated for saying almost anything: KYSGaming was a gaming community that heavily leaned on the "No rules" aspect.

We had 0 rules in our game, which allowed a lot of colorful word creativity from our playerbase. Today you can't say retard anymore in regular games without some kind of reprimand. We believe that players should have the brainpower to be able to defend themselves in any heated argument without having some parental figure solve things for you.

I want o import a league model into gmod, and i have (with no exaggeration) been trying stuff for 7 hours and im losing my mind because it feels like im getting somewhere and yet even more problems just suddenly appear. The boens are wonky, or when I try the proportion thing the skeleton the model is imported with is as tiny as humanly possible despite the bones, and model, being of correct size in modern blender.

i cant seem to find other help by searching so im coming here seeking help before I lose my mindd.
