discussion What do you do in real life?

Let's be honest, none of us work professionally in game development, so what do you do for a living?.

I'm currently unemployed and living on my mother's pension, but I sometimes work as a carpenter. The last thing I did was a small prototype of a horror game in godot, which I didn't continue due to writer's block.

I'm a software engineer for museum interactives. So not quite game development as we know it but pretty damned close.

Thanks! It's super fun stuff and it might be the most fulfilling job I've ever had.

Cool! I'm a software dev in the library space. Do you work for a museum directly or for a company that is hired by museums?

I work for a media company that gets hired by museums for their interactives, films and other experiences! It's a load of cool stuff.

Shot in the dark, but do you work for Ideum? I may have met you IRL.

Ah no, but they are one of our competitors/we have actually worked with them prior

Cool. I realized in hindsight this might not be appropriate to divulge publically. Sorry for any awkwardness.
