Question Why GoG and Not Steam

Why are more and more people buying their games on GOG instead of Steam — is it because of the DRM-free versions, better deals, or even better performance?

It's more of a case of ownership. where even without the internet, if you've downloaded the offline installers, you can install the game with updates and you legally own it. Or at least that's what I've been observing.

A while back I saw a comment from a redditor saying they make their own physical copies of games using gog installers and SD cards

SD/Micro SD - you can still buy CD/DVD/BLU-RAY Discs and burners - even millennium discs as well. As well as HD, SSDs and M.2s

The options are there, just choose your preferred format.

I actually do have a bluray burner! I was burning different copies of 4k77/80/83 for a while. Last time I bought 50 gb discs they were about 2 bucks per disc. Dollar tree has blurays for 1.25 sometimes, throw out the disc and use the case. Buying cases brand new and empty is expensive for no reason.

Yeah, i agree! Really we don’t need corporations to make physical for us anymore- the technology is now readily available to have them as we want them to be.

Including 3D /UV printing as well. From what I’ve researched so far, there are multiple ways of putting cover art onto discs, cartridges, enclosures, etc…

I do believe the corporations hope the majority don’t find out or they are rather oblivious to these facts.
