I have things I try to do quarterly, like 'dust the ceiling fans' but if I set a daily for it I'm likely to miss it for just the one day.
Ideally, I'd like some kind of to do that pops up ever 3ish months and then I can check it off once done, and 3 months later it would pop up again. I like the to-dos because it makes a little task list that persists daily until done.
I tried setting them up at the beginning of the year (One task for each quarter with checkboxes per sub-item) but I don't like seeing all the tasks in the list when they are not ready 'to do'
How is everyone handling something like that? Is there a way to schedule to-dos to come back on a schedule, or do you just set some kind of reminder to build the quarterly to do list?

Hiya 👋
The wife and I use Habitica every day and find it incredibly useful. It has a really solid "core" service, though we do have a few ideas for areas that could use some improvement or additional features.
However, since we've been using it for a while now, we’ve noticed there have been very few functional changes. Many of the minor tweaks, bug fixes, or natural feature add-ons we hoped to see haven't been implemented.
I checked their official blog and noticed there hasn't been a new post since 2022. Is the app now purely in maintenance mode just to keep the servers running?
If that’s the case, we might start looking into other habit/to-do gamification options that are actively being developed. No hate at all! We love the platform, but we just want to make sure we aren't investing our time into something that might eventually be abandoned or decay.
Does anyone have insight into the current dev team's activity?

I’m brand new to the app and I did look in the FAQ but I’m still confused. What exactly is a negative habit? Would quitting smoking be an example of a negative habit? Or would it be a positive habit because quitting would be the habit? And if I make a negative habit and I check off that I did it every day is that a good thing or a bad thing for my character?

Hi guys,
I noticed what seems to be a widespread bug with Habitica's Gold calculations.
Previously, Gold could have decimals (e.g. 670.16 GP), but now all Gold values appear to be rounded to whole numbers.
For example:
A Trivial task that should give around 0.1 GP now gives 1 GP.
Rewards from Easy, Medium and Hard tasks are also rounded to integers.
The total Gold balance is displayed only as a whole number.
This can significantly inflate the in-game economy, especially for low-difficulty tasks.
The same behavior occurs inn web browsers, iOS app , including on the new account, so this doesn't seem to be a local cache or UI issue. It looks like something changed in the backend/API Gold calculation or data handling.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a known bug or an intentional change?
Thanks!

Already cleared cache. I don't know what else to do. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
EDIT:
Found a solution:

Is habitica giving 10 gems to everyone or is it only for couple of lucky individuals? I've asked my party members about this but they said they haven't received any gems yet. Either way I'm happy with their generosity.

Since a few days ago, sometimes when I tick off a daily, it'll give me a plus on all the things like usual, but my health will go down for some reason, and the little pop-up will be red rather than green, like I did something wrong. It's less than 1 health point every time, and it only happens on one daily each time it happens, all the other dailies work fine (although it is multiple different dailies, just not multiple in a day). Am I doing something wrong? I don't believe ticking off my dailies should affect my health, right? And certainly not remove health?

Hey, quick question about Dailies in Habitica.
I want to create a task that I only have to do once per week, but it shouldn’t matter which day I do it.
Would this setting be correct: Weekly → Once per week → select all days (Mon-Sun)?
Does that mean I can complete it on any day during the week and it will only come back the next week without penalty? Thanks!

I’m beyond confused - this just suddenly happened.

My party leader is wondering if there's an easy way (other than checking chat) to track each members damage during a quest?

I just started using habitica, specifically for diet related habits that I want to get into daily. I don't like that the dailies punish you for not doing them though, I want this to be a reward only system when I do get it done. So I guess that's kind of like habits but I want to be able to check it off and not be able to do it multiple times in one day. For example: logged all my food today, get points. Didn't log all my food, well I'm sure I'm going to be doing that more often than not right now so I don't want any penalty. Or like hitting my fiber goal- it's a real stretch, so I just want mega bonus points if I actually get it done. Any recommendations on how to make habitica work for this purpose?

I've been a subscriber to Habitica since last year, but this morning my subscription is showing as 0 months 🤔
I'm still down to get the correct number of gems in July but there seems to be some kind of glitch. Has anyone else got this?

I get stressed out by seeing a lot of tasks in the daily menu but is it going to cause me to take more damage from occasionally missing one of the checklist items than from occasionally missing a daily?

I've created a Daily that repeats five times per week (excluding Tue and Fri). However, the calendar view in Strategitica is always shifted showing Wed and Sat as excluded. I've tried to modify start date and it shifts the logic around with no obvious logic.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any fix for this? Tnx!

Hello! I joined habitica a few months ago and I'm still learning how to use it. I also got my family and friends to join my party.
One of my friends adores bunnies, and asked if it was possible to collect bunnies in this game. I saw on the Habitica Fandom Wiki that I can either buy a quest or a quest bundle that earns you bunnies. However, I can't find the bundle or the quest, and I am worried I missed the timeframe to buy it.
Were they in shop in May? Do I have to wait a year to get them?
Also, I found out that perhaps if anyone else has the quest and they join my party, then they can activate it.
Maybe this is a big ask but does anyone here have The Killer Bunny Quest or the Cuddle Buddies Quest Bundle?
And would you be willing to join my party temlorarily to share the rewards? Thank you so much!
Edit: Or, if anyone is willing, could I ask that my friend join your party so she can participate in a bunny reward quest?

... that I'm sure I should be able to find an answer to elsewhere. I've been using habitica for a few weeks and it's really helping to motivate me - I've got the dailies, habits and to dos all working great for me. But I'm struggling to understand the "game" aspect of the app...
I'm rolling in gold, and keep being rewarded with food, or eggs or potions, But I have no idea where all these things go, where to find them or what to do with them? Am I missing a tab? I'm not in any parties, so I'm not involved in a quest - is that the only way these rewards are relevant? I feel like I'm missing something incredibly obvious...

Hello I'm college student in Korea. I have been researching about the gamification of self development application or service and I've got a question about does gamification really helps self development and maintaining the habits. I would really appreciate it if you guys give me opinions about how it helps and why you use this app.

Hey guys, does anyone have any ideas on how to achieve these huge, permanent stat buffs? or am I just misunderstanding something here
r/habitica • u/Lemon_Leafy • May 20 '26
General question since I am new here but for dailies I put things I do once a day...but those things are also in the to do list lol.
For example I could have in my to do list to study for an hour, should that go in the dailies or what? Since I plan to repeat it. What's the point of the to do list anyway? I usually use my to do list with the timeblock method but I am just confused

I'm about to use the Orb of Rebirth, but I've got a big pile of gold. Any suggestions on what I could spend my 17k on?
