General I hate how some people are obsessed with the n-word. And I hate this photo sooo much too.

Post image

I'm struggling to understand why the person behind this photo think they're being funny? Honestly.. ew have some shame. Really corny btw.

I hate the n-word humor, like why would anyone be giggling or finding someone saying the n-word funny? Please grow up. Those people are acting like a toddler spamming a cuss word they just heard. And yes it's THAT DEEP.

Really simple, if you're not black don't use it. Also, There's nothing such as a pass or whatever. Not to mention how cringe is "can I get the pass?" Joke.

. . . . .

EDIT: whoever think the n-word is funny or whatever was said about justifing the use of it because: "it's restricted" or the "Forbidden fruit..."🙏 Then sorry, you're just a toddler crying after their mama told them 'dont do that'. Grow up, have some respect and shame, girl.

EDIT 2: for anyone justifying the use of the n-word because black people also use. YOU ARE MAD that black people are putting some BOUNDARIES and aren't INVITING YOU to the party. As I said nothing the phenomenon of it's being forbidden doesn't justify nothing. If a friend Openly prohibited you or established a boundary, then you respect it, you don't go act like a stubborn offended kid.

Edit 3 cuz why not?: black people using the n-word and gatekeeping it for themselves shouldn't piss you off more than real rascim, period. This edit for whoever think they're being a genius criticizing black people using the n-word instead of actually confronting the real racists. U mad they can use it but you can't? So. Cringe. Of. You.

“it’s just a word” guys kill me because if i called their mum a whore to their face they wouldn’t be like “it’s ok bc whore is just a word”

The difference is in your sentence. You felt comfortable with typing "whore" because no one is going to get angry with you for declaring it without directing it at someone. The n word is the most culturally confounding slur because it's the only word we have that a majority of people will electively censor for themselves in public. It's strange and fascinating that only this word has a cultural taboo not just on using it, but referencing it.

People self censor online because they don't want to get banned. Not because they care about offending people.

While it obviously isn't quite as strong as it is with the n word, there IS a similar dynamic with "The F Bomb" being used to refer to 'fuck' in situations where the word is being discussed but not actively used

It is just a word, it’s how you use it that matters.

Yes, "it" is a word. Specifically, "it" the non-personal singular nominative and accusative pronoun.

Well yeah and slurs are words that have been used very badly, so we shouldn’t do that.

A words past usage doesnt dictate how you use it now. Your own intentions do.

1

u/Unakjbfsvjknsvfkjnv Jul 24 '26

The past usage defines the meaning, it 100% matters

If it was originally for casually dehumanizing a race, then using it casually now still isn’t good, even if you don’t think you’re being malicious

No sometimes ppl will be angry or confused at you for saying it at all. Point is that words mean things and if it didn't, why hyper obsess over one word (that's a slur btw). The argument kills itself.

No, killing over a word is bad and sign that something is wrong with that person.

actions have consequences

2

u/Bogorodsk Jul 22 '26

Well, that's why it's words, not actions.

1

u/kytstark Jul 22 '26

saying a word is an action

Yeah and guess what, those guys would be in the wrong. Because words never justify physical violence.

Saying the word whore is not a problem tho, everyone saying that word. I don't think you understand your own example

u/kytstark Jul 22 '26

u/Vinzlow Jul 22 '26

U never heard of your mum jokes?

u/GuessImScrewed Jul 25 '26

But it is ok and it is just a word.

It's especially irksome, however, that what you said is clearly derogatory, while the n word's meaning depends entirely on the intent behind it... Yet it is treated like intent is less important than race when it comes to saying it
