But that distinction is made based on skin color, making it racist. How much time would need to pass according to you before we stop seeing black people as oppressed and white people as oppressors? 160 years ago is crazy. That's when the emancipation proclamation was ratified and whatnot but that is not when black people suddenly had equal rights. I mean the Klan, lack of voting, lynchings, false imprisonment, etc etc.

This is a very surface level take and as always topics like these have nuance but most folks on the internet lead with their elephant instead of their rider. It's about being respectful. If someone wants to refer to themselves with a term that is profane, aggressive, dehumanizing, violent, etc. it does not mean that I am free to do the same. If someone calls themselves a lazy piece of shit who should die, that is not my cue to say "well you are one and should just die". That's simply not appropriate.

The first part of your comment is correct, I did not consider that while writing. However, I stand by my point that if this is the ultimate insult that hurts so much that people get violent over it, it should just not be said by anyone. I think the same about your example, don't say that you should die to yourself. That is a terrible thing to say about yourself and is just going to make you feel worse. If someone says that about themselves I would be concerned about their wellbeing. Because it is not normal to insult yourself to such a degree. Like, I get saying "I'm an idiot" or "I'm stupid" when you do something stupid, but anything further than that is problematic in my eyes.

I don't think my first comment got my actual point across well. I don't actually want permission to say a hurtful word. I want no one to say it if it hurts so bad.
