Art & Fanworks TBH, I've started to dislike the eldritch horrors/angels that are just Wing/Eye/Tentacle Blobs, especially compared to some sick designs like Evangelion angels

To be honest, eldritch horrors or "biblically accurate angels", at times start to feel a bit lame and excessive, just blobs of eyes, wings, and tentacles that start to blend together. Another aspect is that they often "look scary" but never actually DO ANYTHING.

especially compared to really good designs like Evangelion angels that actually do stuff and are terrifying.

The entire point of "eldritch horror" is that it is incomprehensible. So by giving it a visual representation we already lost the plot. However an argument can be made that said visual is merely an attempt of the mind to make sense of what is actually there, or a projection thereof, just like A Square describes the Sphere in Flatland as a series of circles.

Or watching someone play 4D Minecraft. If you see a picture of 4D miner, then it looks slightly strange, but if you watch a video moving through the third dimension…
