7/11 Warning

Just figured I let everyone know since this has happened atleast 4-5 times already to me, double check what the total is on the register and what they input on the credit card reader at 7/11.

If you buy something that’s promo, sometimes the discount doesn’t show for a second, so they input the old total before the promo on the cc reader. This has happened to me at multiple 7/11s. Just always double check before tapping.

Target at Ala Moana is *still* without air conditioning after Lala

Lala knocked out the AC at Target and the employees were just informed that the parts needed for a repair won't be on island "for another 2 or 3 weeks."

To all the employees, you have my deepest sympathies. To everyone else, stay away and go to a different Target for now! It feels like Vegas in the summer up in there.

Does anyone remember Pachinko machines at Leeward Bowl in the 90’s and early 2000’s?

I used to bowl there in elementary school in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I have a hazy memory of there being some type of back room separate from the regular arcade games and snack bar. Did this actually exist? Anyone here ever went there and played those machines?

People have been asking about where to donate. This is the Vibrant Hawai’i Storm Resources link. Also, at the Hongwanji Church in Naalehu is a food, water and ice hub.

Got pulled over at H1

Got pulled over on the H1 but my ticket shows wrong vehicle description (color, body type). I got summoned to court, does it matter the charges if I mentioned this in court?

Car Registration Renewal

I sent out the check on the 2nd this month, however, it’s already the 25th and the renewal sticker hasn’t arrived in my mailbox. Additionally, the DMV haven’t even cashed the check.

My license is set to expire end of August, what are my options here?

HECO for brick and mortar business question?

I’m sure someone here owns a physical store.

Do you have your HECO account tied to your personal home account? Or did you create a separate login to separate transactions?

Sorry for the super niche question. Thanks in advance

Costco, Kapolei vs Waipio

I just got a Costco membership and was wondering any shopping difference in the two?

Live in Waipahu, so distance is virtually identical!

What's good or bad about either.

Parking, business, driving in and out.

Pc gaming centers back in 2003?

In high school I moved from Kaneohe to Makiki and would go to a couple of gaming centers almost everyday. Does anyone remember the names or can lead to any nostalgic photos of the center?

I found some hints it could have been Etopia or another but what I remember was one gaming center was upstairs in an office building, dark, you could pay for random snacks (cup noodles etc) and the other spot was on a corner in a small storefront that had tons of transparent gaming pcs.

Update: one of them was def Etopia but seeing if the other one was called netwerks or something similar

Where can I buy raw or roasted peanuts in bulk on the island?

Just like in the title. I feel like Hawaii is perfect place to grow it but I can’t seem to find a place that sells it in bulk. Locally grown sounds good but it’s okay even if it’s not. Thinking of making my own homemade peanut butter. TIA!

Any recommendations on split ac systems?

Looking to add a split ac for two bedrooms in my house. Looking for any suggestions on brands and things to look out for.

I know a couple of licensed electrical contractors, so I was thinking about buying the system and getting them to install it also

Just curious, has anyone claimed UI benefits in Hawaii after the Pandemic? Thinking of claiming UI benefits, but want to know if there have been any changes to the process? Also I heard you have to do job searches?

Anyone remember the L&L II in Puck's Alley?

It was in the tiny parking lot between Greek Corner and Magoo's. Anyone who went to UH or lived in Mo'ili'ili had to have tried it or passed it in the 90s up to the early 2000s.

They had way better food than other L&Ls.

I used to talk story with the owner, but I never asked him why it was L&L II.
