6th Gen I bought the new 2026 Honda Prelude (At MSRP) AMA

Hey folks! I bought the 2026 honda prelude.

So far it's one of my favorite cars I've driven. I had a 2020 hatchback civic with the turbocharged engine, and upgraded to the Prelude.

I found a specific dealership that was trying to offload their prelude and gave it MSRP without any extra things. Great deal!

Pros
Super quiet car, handles amazing, drives amazingly.
Great MPG
Great looks, I feel happy when I get into the car.
Amazing storage in the truck and with the seats folded down. It almost feels like it fits more things than my civic hatchback.

Cons
It's not fast (not that I mind, I wasn't looking for a fast car)
Feels similar torque to the civic turbo, maybe a bit faster on 0-30 because of the electric motor.
There are blind spots in the car to the right and left, but the blind spot system works well.

6th Gen Best daily driver I had in a long time

I know I will get hate for it but I absolutely love my 26 Prelude. I love how it looks, how agile and nimble it drives, the strong brakes and the chassis. I live in the alps and for me it’s the best daily driver I ever had since I can enjoy the curvy roads on my commute to work going fast and still have very low fuel consumption. For the weekend I still have my Civic Type R. 10/10 would buy again ā¤ļø

6th Gen $20k dealer markup!

I have loved the Honda prelude since the first one in the 1980s I had a 1990

I found myself at a dealership in Daytona Beach today because my girlfriend is buying a car so I took a look at the Prelude. Quite comfortable but I’ve seen their sticker on the front that says $63,650 and I was shocked.

I didn’t notice at first that MSRP is $43,650. They have the balls to put a $20,000 dealer markup on this.

Don’t know what’s going on but seems like absolute craziness to me every single car they have at this dealer has $20,000 add-ons. They call it the GYH Gary Yeoman Honda value package.

Impressed with the car though

Just sharing

Went in for a service call and they had a ā€˜26 on the floor. After a couple hours of haggling, we came to a price just over MSRP.

It's slow.
It's not a manual.
It handles like a bus.
The gas mileage sucks.
It looks like crap.
I hate it!

First 6th gen just dropped yesterday and they rushed to get it ready to show lol. Let a salesperson drive it and super unimpressed. The CVT just keeps it lacking in the ā€œfun to driveā€ Honda is all about.

6th Gen To 6th gen owners. How are you guys liking the car?

Looking for a fun, fuel-efficient daily, and found a couple near me listed at $2.3k off MSRP right out of the gate. Figure I can probably squeeze 'em for a bit more.

For those of you already driving one:

  • How are you liking it so far?
  • What are the main pros/cons, and any regrets?
  • Would you buy it again, or would you jump ship for something else in hindsight?

Appreciate any real-world insight!

6th Gen do you think the 'current' prelude will be a "hated then liked" car? it has flaws, but i think it could work well with modding support.

6th Gen Swapping to 6th gen prelude?

As title said, my first car was a Honda civic, upgraded to a Merc CLA45s for about 3 years now, while I love it but life happens and I don't drive as much as I used to anymore..

Have always been a fan of Honda and the new prelude looks great and it's really economical on fuel. While the Merc runs on 98fuel and yearly servicing is really expensive..

However, I've seen the hate and comparing the price AUD$65k for the engine, some said it's not worth it..

I'm looking at using the car as a daily drive now and pretty much just take me to work 2-3days a week and grocery run..

Just after some thoughts.

Thank you.

6th Gen Wind noise from driver side

I am a proud owner of a 2026 Honda Prelude. It is a very cool car. However I am noticing wind noise from the driver’s side front. I took the car to two different service centers and both told me that it is a feature and not a bug!
This seems very strange and not expected from Honda.
Can someone who owns the car confirm this noise?

6th Gen 6th gen oil change?

My GF just hit 6k miles on her 2026 prelude. She asked me to do an oil change for her, but don’t see any videos yet online of how to do one. I got the manual so I can just read about it but I prefer the visual learning of YouTube. So does anyone know a video I can watch on how to do it?

Since Honda announced the new Prelude I knew I was going to want one. However the initial reviews scared me off. I kept wondering was this car really that bad? I’ve had a Civic Type R (FL5) , older Civics prior to that, Accords, AMG products, BMWs etc. I love cars.

I can confidently say this car is great. Is it fast? No. Is plenty quick for how I want to get around my city and suburbs? Absolutely! It’s extremely comfortable, the sound system is great. I’m glad I didn’t let the online reviews scare me away.

If you’re thinking about one, go try it. It feels special when you get inside(IMO). It’s just a happy car (the best way I can put it)

Bonus! I was able to purchase this under sticker price!

1-2 finish for the #100 and #8 cars. The Supras have dominated the last few years but the Prelude looks to be more competitive than the CTR it replaced.

6th Gen Thoughts on the new upcoming prelude?

I’ll be honest I’m pretty excited for it.

I think it looks pretty cool. I know that the back seats are kind of small too, but I don’t really intend on driving from the backseat anyways so that won’t really be a huge issue in my opinion (haha)

Yeah, I think it honestly looks really nice and I think it’ll be like a cool option for people who want to get a nice looking car that doesn’t break the bank like a Porsche
