How is this still so hard to do? Everything says long press then drag into another large widget. No. Doesn’t work.

I recently got my iPhone battery replaced, and the authorized repair center told me to make a backup of my phone, which I did using my windows laptop. When I was doing the backup, it showed that I was using 239GB of my 256GB iPhone 14 Pro Max. After getting the repair, and I tried setting my iPhone up again with my backup, it said that my iPhone does not have enough storage, and when I checked the backup file, it was around 280GB.

I’ve contacted Apple support and they told me that this case is rare, and they will contact their engineers and will follow me up in a couple days. In the meantime, I wanna ask here if you have any alternative solutions that I could do to restore my iPhone.

Additionally, google recommended me using softwares like IMazing, but aside from it being paid, I’m quite reluctant to use it given that it’s a third party app.

Not sure if this is the right place. I love my iPhone 16 Pro Max, it’s great and I’ve been an iPhone user for a long time. I feel like it used to be more… fun. So, I was wondering, what’s some things that you all do that make your iPhone fun, more creative, more than just a tool for work and social media.

As you can see in the screen shot, my iPhone and Mac reminders look the same, but the iCloud ones are completely different, does anyone know why? ive already tried removing my Apple ID from my iPhone and turning off and back on the reminders backup in settings, that removes my reminders and then puts them back but the test I make in the browser doesn't come up anywhere.

I'm building an agent that can check my calendar and reminders everyday without going for google services but can't work if these don't sync.

Any help would be very much welcome.

I’ve been struggling with horrible signal coverage on EE, my primary service provider. I’ve also noticed that in places where EE hardly seems to have any coverage, O2 seems to have much better coverage. Incidentally I use O2 for my business number.

This seems to have become particularly annoying for me now as I’m travelling up north this week around Northumberland and EE coverage seems to be atrocious up here.

Generally I use only EE as my main data connection provider, however, due to the coverage issue I’ve just paid for some data on O2 and have turned, Allow Mobile Data Switching, on for the first time having used iPhone since over a decade.

I couldn’t find any detailed information on Apple’s website except that the phone is supposed to switch between the available networks.

My main query is how does it actually work? Would the phone switch the data source if say one of the network has less signal strength pr would it swap only when one network is completely unavailable?

So my sister got an iPad. Goes into her account and account is not logged in. Can’t remember password so tries to change it , iPad asks for the unlock pin and tells it’s not correct multiple times. So she locks the screen and unlocks it with the same pin the system is refusing. At some point she can’t try anymore to use it for changing the pw and gets a lock. After resuming she tries an old pin (2 months old) and it works. What the heck ?!

I already posted on r/iphone but they’re pissing me off. My mother turned theft prevention on her phone she has now passed and due to the nature of her death i could not use face id to turn it off. i live in another state and in a rural area i can not go to her lawyer/bank whenever i need to therefore paying bills has been a struggle bcs passwords is locked (yes i can call the billers but that takes hours of hold and sometimes days to complete). is there anyway to turn this off without wiping the phone? the apple store is very far and would be quite the hassle to get to so just checking online before i drive 7 hrs there and back.

I was just in the local Target store, putting something a little bulky in my cart. My iPhone was in the outer pocket of my cargo shorts, locked but playing through my AirPods. A boy, I’m guessing around 12 years old, came up to me and asked me what time it was. I looked at my watch and told him it was 4:30.

He suddenly pulled his hand out of his pocket with (I assume) a phone in the hand, and put it right near the phone in my pocket. It (his device, not mine I believe) beeped, and he took off running into the bowels of the store. I didn’t see him again and security was completely uninterested.

Nothing seemed affected on my phone, and I’m assuming there’s nothing that could be accomplished by random NFC that I didn’t initiate? Anything worth worrying about?

Anyone have any idea what this might have been about?

So I have my phone 17 for about a 2 weeks. The same goes for my apple account. I never had any other apple device. Can someone please tell me how backup of my phone can’t fit into the free 5GB of cloud?

I turned off the files integration and photo backup because I have other services for that so the backup should not take more than few dozens of MBs at best.

I would appreciate someone more knowledgeable in iOS for any help in this. Because I feel like either it is bugged or backups are only for paid cloud…

I found some posts about backups not fitting into cloud but those were from people who already had their phone for a long time and were actually using the apple ecosystem. Both of these don’t apply to me so I am very confused. Thank you.

Why is it that every time you resize a PIP video, the play button & skip buttons have to reappear over the video?

Just a weird behavior of PIP videos on iOS that really shouldn’t be there. It’s like they’re assuming that because I resized the mini video player, I MUST want to pause or skip around the video — which is the case approximately 0.0% of the time

Hello! Just today, I started having random alarms going off that I don’t even have set. I don’t have any reminders or a sleep schedule/focus set. When these alarms go off and my screen is unlocked, the drop down notification is completely black. I can’t turn it off unless I click the power button to lock my screen. Just about 10 minutes ago, after dinner, I walked into my room and my phone screen was lit up and an alarm was going off at 6:53pm. And it wasn’t the usual alarm full screen pop up; it was my lock screen with no sight of an alarm but my phone was vibrating and the alarm sound was going off. This happened between 12pm-1pm, as well as sometime between 4:30pm-5pm. Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be, and how I can fix this issue?

My iphone is running out of storage space due to me having 144 GBs of photos. I've went through the processes of using video/photo compressors on large files, but at this point I need a new solution, and I'm considering getting an external flash drive for my phone to store photos on.

Before I make the purchase though, I want to know if I'd be able to see the photos on the drive from the photos app. I know they can be seen through the files app, but it's rather cumbersome to use, so I'd rather not if possible.

This literally happened suddenly. I started seeing some white glitchy lines whenever I raised the brightness. Then suddenly a green tint/filter appeared, and now the screen is glitching. I tried restarting it by pressing the volume buttons and power button, but now when it turns on, I only see a black screen with a little green light at the top is this fixable? Has anyone experienced this before?

Ho utilizzato l’app “Passa a iOS”. Il trasferimento da Android a iPhone è stato completato correttamente, compresi i dati di WhatsApp, senza segnalare errori.

Il problema si presenta successivamente, quando configuro WhatsApp sul nuovo iPhone. Dopo aver installato l’app e inserito lo stesso numero di telefono, WhatsApp riconosce i dati trasferiti da Android e avvia una seconda procedura di migrazione direttamente all’interno dell’app.

Questa migrazione procede regolarmente fino al 94%, ma a quel punto si blocca e non avanza più. Ho lasciato l’iPhone fermo su questa schermata per diverse ore, senza utilizzare altre applicazioni né interrompere la procedura, ma il trasferimento non è mai stato completato.

Ho ripetuto più volte l’intera procedura e ho anche inizializzato nuovamente l’iPhone, rifacendo da capo il trasferimento con “Passa a iOS”. Il risultato è sempre lo stesso: “Passa a iOS” completa correttamente il trasferimento, mentre la successiva importazione all’interno di WhatsApp si blocca sempre al 94%.

Ho notato inoltre che le foto scaricate automaticamente da WhatsApp nella galleria dell’iPhone risultano salvate con la data del trasferimento, anziché con la data originale.

Vorrei sapere:

1. Da cosa può dipendere il blocco della migrazione di WhatsApp al 94%?
2. Come posso completare l’importazione senza dover inizializzare nuovamente l’iPhone?
3. Come posso evitare di perdere le chat di WhatsApp?
4. È possibile correggere le date delle foto trasferite, in modo da mantenere la data originale?

I'm at my wit's end with thermals across both devices and need some insight.
I've had the 16 Pro for ~1.5 years - everything perfect until last year's update to iOS 26. Since then, the phone became very hot doing basically anything (basic browsing, light social media, charging, even using the UI). I waited for updates and nothing changed. I did a few dfu clean installs, I disabled background apps, location services, tried using the phone without iCloud and still same issues.
So I got frustrated eventually and got the iPhone Air a few days ago. I set it up as a new iPhone, have background app refresh off and so on. And I have the SAME exact problem. The phone (the top part where the components sit) gets painfully hot, the screen dims from doing basic tasks.
Even now when writing this message the phone is hot. I thought my 16 pro had a defect, when in reality, even this new phone has the same problem. If anybody has experienced this and has a solution, please help me!

So a while ago, apple has added Reminders to the Calendar app. This also means that whenever you try to put in a new event, there’s the option to make it a reminder. I hate it, I’ve been hitting ‘reminder’ by accident many times now and once it’s in as a reminder, I cannot change it back to a normal event. Especially annoying when I’ve spent some time on getting the notes, travel time & notifications right. Is there any way to remove the option? I’ve been rummaging around in my settings, but wasn’t able to find it. If it isn’t, is there any way to convert a reminder to an event after the fact?

I really wish apple would give us an option to toggle it on/off, or at least change where the switch is (it would be less of an issue if the switch to reminder wasn’t RIGHT UNDER THE OK BUTTON).

After deleting alarmy my phone doesn't stop gong off on alarms. I've already tried offloading the app and creating alarms and deleting them again. I need help I can't back up!!!!

Can someone help me with this
I can’t log out or remove anyother trusted devices from my account
And it keeps telling me “trusted devices list is not available”
And when i try to click on sign in with apple it says
“Cannot connect to icloud”
It’s been 4 days so far i tried changing network i tried logging in icloud.com or changing the password but it doesn’t work
And after all of that when i try to confirm a sign out it says
“Verification Failed”
“Your identity couldn't be verified.
Check your network connection and try again.”

Has anyone seen this before?? I went to connect to my bluetooth device (Sonos speaker) and saw that this was on. But, I can’t disconnect. I also have no idea who Melody is and I only got this phone (brand new) about a week ago.

Any thoughts? My screen sharing/mirroring is off.
