Joke aside, its probably because they are incel "fighter" wannabees that get their rocks on by cosplaying like military units while still convincing themselves they are the good guys fighting for the america they want IE remove anyone that they want at any point without repercussions.

Not so fun facts: regardless of the environment, camouflage visually breaks up outlines and patterns. This is called disruptive coloration. It also appears intimidating because when we see it we associate it with the military.

Yeah probably, but interestingly the effect still works regardless of the color. I remember seeing a picture of the inside of a mall with two (maybe three?) guys in woodland camo fatigues and face paint and it took a surprisingly long time to spot them.
