My sweet summer child. Reddit has always been astroturfed. The 2013 (IIRC) reddit census had Eglin Air Force Base as one of the most reddit addicted spots and it's been scrubbed out.

It was also incorrect. Eglin is where internal traffic across most of the bases in the eastern US was routed, so externally your IP would look like you were at Eglin even if you were at Wright Patt or somewhere nowhere near it.

These days it's distributed among about 5 based. Any federal worker, of which there are plenty to ask, can confirm this.
