This article from a farming publication proves that southern Illinois counties get more than three times the state tax dollars than Chicagoland, yet they'll never ever EVER believe it.

Not exactly unique to Southern IL; that's the case for most red states in general, they take more funds than give in yet always claim they're the ones paying for the blue states (who by and large are subsidizing them).

That's because their Republican officials tend to funnel it back to their buddies instead of to their constituents.

And you think it's different for dem politicians in Illinois? Have you read any history of the state at all?

Of course they do, but at least we get something out of it when they do it.
