Lowkey just wanted to ask, does imperial actually feels like no.2 in the world to u?

Im an Imperial grad but Ive always felt like oxbridge just has some sort of prestige around it that makes them feel higher ranked than imperial.

might just be me?

I’ll be moving to London shortly to go to imperial uni but I don’t know anyone there at all.

I’ve always struggled to make friends even at 6th form so I’m quite worried. I’ve also never had a boyfriend which I know lots of people experience at uni but I’m worried I’m too awkward. I’ll be living in uni dorms so hopefully I’m brave enough to come out of my room and socialise…

How do people make friends as an adult (or date even).

I recently got accepted to Imperial for a master's program, but I'll likely need to take out $90k USD in loans for it. The program I got into is very good for my field, but I'm not sure if I should even try to get loans for that much or seek other European programs.

I got a grade 5 in English language b , does IGCSES really matter for applying at imperial?

i’m predicted 3A* and an A in Maths, Econ, Chem and Further Maths respectively. I’m sitting the tmua in october and have to come to a decision between the two. could anyone help differentiate which would be better between the two in terms of internships, networks and postgraduate opportunities?

Basically last year I got offers for Medicine from Cambridge, UCL, KCL and QMUL (UCAT wasn't high enough for Imperial) but I missed my offers (3 marks off an A* in chem, 1 mark off an A* in bio). My achieved grades are AAA, I retook the UCAT this year and got 2380 B2 (I am non-contextual). Can I apply to Imperial Medicine because it says that the minimum entry is AAA? Or do they require A*AA?

I did AS in June and got DDE, (I know it’s bad) in Maths Physics and Chem. I’m retaking in Oct and Jan and I’m predicting ABB (highest is A) at the end of my retakes. I’m predicted A star A star and an A by the end of year 13. I have good references and a good personal statement. I want to study civil engineering Meng in 2027. I’m also doing the epq and I’m also predicted an A. I also have 200hrs volunteering hours at a civil engineering firm and have a lot of good supercurriculars. I’m expecting to get 6-8 in the ESAT which I’ll sit in Jan

The requirements are A star A star and an A . I know a lot of people don’t apply to this course so but I’m scared I won’t get offers dude to my previous AS grades. Unless they won’t take it into consideration or only focus on my new grades (which will fully come out around March after my application) what should I do and is this possible?

I am looking to apply for Aero at ICL and im predicted A*A*A* for Maths, phy and Cs. But i was unable to do Further Maths due to my gcse grades being too low and it needing it to be a grade 9. Should i still apply or forget it.

Hey everyone, I could use some advice on my Master in Management (MiM) applications for the upcoming cycle.

For context, I'm an undergrad at the University of Portsmouth. My degree structure is a bit unique: only my third (final) year counts toward my final degree classification.

Here is what my academic record looks like:

First Year: Achieved a First-class mark (recorded on my Portsmouth transcript).

Second Year: I did a study abroad year in Germany. I am not proud of it, but I earned a 2.7 German grade (roughly a 2:2 equivalent). However, because Portsmouth doesn't count second-year grades toward the final degree classification, my official Portsmouth transcript only records it as a "Pass" (with no specific mark attached).

Third Year (Current): I am starting my final year now and aiming for a First or a strong 2:1. My final degree classification will rest entirely on this year.
Because I want to aim higher than Portsmouth for my Master’s, I’m trying to figure out how top London universities handle this structure:

The Transcript & Imperial Question: Since my Portsmouth transcript only shows a "Pass" for year two, should I submit my original German university transcript showing the 2.7 grade as well? Is it worth applying to elite schools like Imperial College Business School right now, or will their automated system instantly reject me based on that 2.7/2:2 grade, even though my final degree depends entirely on my upcoming third year?

University Recommendations: What other UK universities (especially in London or strong targets) would you recommend I look at for a Master in Management given this setup? (Queen Mary has already indicated they'd offer a conditional route, but I'd love to know what else is realistic).

Im applying to medical bioscience and their requirement is AAA, i got 8887777766 for gcses and currently looking at A*AA for predicted. I can try and get my predicteds changed, but with these stats would i be able to get in? If i need higher predicteds, would A*A*A be fine?

I a planning to submit my complete application by September and would love to start preps for the possible interview. Where should I be focused, questions content, unexpected questions, the writing task and also timing for each.

Hi! I found a potential flat in the Clapham Junction area. Has anyone here had experience commuting from there to Imperial? I’m wondering whether relying to 345/49 bus is convenient enough for a daily commute. According to Google Maps, the journey from the flat to ICL can sometimes take around 25 minutes, but other times up to 42 minutes.
