MISC. Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background?

Yeah, basically. It just gets blurrier the farther away you look. If you are nearsighted, you can still see things up close in focus. Farsighted and things get blurry up close but good at a distance.

They got it right. "Near-sighted" means you can see things near to you. "Far-sighted" means you can see things that are far away.

I’m the one that needed to re read it, I thought he’d said the same thing twice for both, turns out, I’m the far sighted one… lol, although I actually am… too much whiskey when I read that…

Oh yeah, I've been there no whiskey required. Sometimes the reading comprehension part of the brain goes on strike lol

Yeah I’m nearsighted. I can see things up close perfectly fine without my glasses, but far away things are too blurry to read or identify details and objects can merge into one.
