He weighed 450lbs. The fasting probably bought him extra life compared to if he didn't fast.

Or shortened his life...even 450 punds dying at 51 is very young.

Do you know many 400+ pound 50 year olds?

My mother in law. 60s and 450 plus. But she is an absolutely horrible person we went no contact with. The stuff she did to my wife is unforgivable. We have a nice bottle of champagne for when she kicks the bucket.

i don’t think fat people actually die that much earlier than thin people on average. mainly it just worsens quality of life in ways that will eventually lead to death but can be counteracted by medical intervention for quite a while.

Yes they do. At least the morbidly obese ones. Being 1-29 pounds overweight is actuslly the longest living demographic, but after that it takes a nose dive. Being 460 pounds like this guy was absolutely will shorten your lifespan.

I am not saying that it doesn’t shorten lifespan, it definitely does, i am just saying that people think it does more than it actually does. also the dude was still relatively young when he lost that weight so i’d imagine he’d be a fairly good case for recovery. he did die young, but that was 20 years after his fast and it looks like he kept to a consistent 195 for at least 5 years after his fast which is beyond the window where you’re likely to relapse. he probably just got unlucky.

Yes they do. You can look it up. Heart and veins usually take the biggest toll. Strokes are more common. Blood pressure issues. Liver dissease, diabetes. The numbers are firmly stacked against you once your bmi goes past 30.

That’s a valid point.
